Preity Zinta gets a 100x return on her IPL investment ( 35 cr -> 3500 cr ) in 18 years

Preity Zinta invested 35 cr in 2008  -  that must have been a lion's share of her liquid wealth - for a 23 % stake in PKXI.

Based on comparable valuation ( sale of RCB and RR ) ...PKXI is about ~ 1.6B USD or INR 15000 cr .....this brings the valuation of her 23 % stake to INR 3450 cr in 2026.

Thats almost a 100X return in 18 years !

Or a Compounded return of 29 % every single year for 18 years on her original investment.

This beats the consistent performance of any major hedge fund by a long shot.  Beats the performance of any other asset class ( except Bitcoin / cryptos )

She has made WAYY more money through her IPL entry than the biggest Bollywoodias must have made through movies.

Laalach ki koi seema nahi hai... warren buffett net worth 140 billion usd, age 95, ek pair kabar mein...phir bhi daan dharam nahi karta...by now, he should have donated 99.99% of his networth in various worthy causes.

In india, jhunjhunwala at 62 died leaving 5.8 billion usd. Kuchh saath nahi jana, not the money, not the relations, not the body..

Pooja paath satsang kirtan dhyan daan dharam kar lo ji.

Enough of my boring gyan.

You are not wrong.

But money gives options and freedom in life - to walk away from situations, to maintain a good standard of living,  to create experiences and also to do good ( when you have beyond your lifestyle needs).

Zinta is an extremely brave and admirable individual. One of the few (ex) Bollywood women I truly admire.

She wasn't bullied out of her stake in IPL by a big industrialist with whom she was in a relationship with ( Ness Wadia ).  She is still the face of PKXI.

She is the only one who came out openly and said that Chori Chori Chupke Chupke was financed by shady people ( none of her male co-stars had the guts to say this )

She made a bold calculated bet investing a large part of her savings in IPL and it paid off in a big way. Good for her.

She is fiercely patriotic. Amazing person.

This site pegs Punjab Kings @ 141M USD. That is the estimated brand value. Transaction size is almost 5x-7x of that so 700M-980M USD.

The way these ownership contracts are drawn up, if the majority stake holder in KxiP wants to sell his share, he has to first offer it to the other existing owners first. That would be Preity and Ness. She stands to gain in that eventuality too.

There's kangna too.

Waise mujhe parineeti bhi shakal se hi bjp supporter lagti hai:giggle:...I think she inspired Raghav chaddha to become dhurandhar 3 n join bjp.

Farha khan, choreographer, has a very warm personality. She will also be a good bjp addition!

Well, enterprise valuation would be in multiples of brand value. Typically comparables are used in the industry.

Rajasthan Royals was recently sold for about 1.6 B USD ( INR 15000 cr ) , given that Punjab Kings should go in that range too, bringing her 23 % stake to about 3450 cr in absolute value.

Now according to a certain exceptionally sassy friend of mine - thats a weekday gift for the Mrs. if you are a MDA like industralist. But for Zinta, thats a major windfall.

Spirituality, by asking us to be in witness mode, centres us in the present.

Stock Trading always takes us to future worry, I have thought of it as one of the most anti-spiritual jobs.

Our hearts, our guts have neurons (i.e. memory ) as well (not just the brain). With constant stress n worry which trading brings, even the heart n gut are stressed out as their neurons get set that way.

Dhyan (open awareness meditation, mindfulness, mantra, naam jap..), bhakti (kirtan satsang prayers etc) will set the heart and gut situation right. It centres one in the present. There is no hell or heaven in the future, or after death etc. All the hell and heaven possibility is in the present.

Traders need spirituality the most i belive...

Tagging friend @velu as well.

Been a really wise investment.

Don't think Shilpa Shetty got that much money though.

SRK would get 2 bn dollars if he sells his IPL franchise now.

Anyway Zinta madam has earned much more with her quiet investment at the right time than what even top male actors in Bollywood would struggle to do over their entire career. More power to her.

And vegetarians can't have a protein rich diet ? I admit it's tough but there are alternatives.

Yes and complex carbs are equally good. Simple carbs are very bad.

Priety could have let her then beau Ness wadia invest totally in IPL. But she invested her money too there and became the face of the franchise.

She did the right decision. Got a substantial stake in the franchise.
