rkt.india Posted May 10 Posted May 10 He wasn't like this before. He used to be a proper batsman from u19 days but due to T20 demands, moulded himself into a hard hitting batsman. Manucrick, maniac and tapandrun 3

Ultimate_Game Posted May 10 Posted May 10 He's the only CSK batter other than Samson who can score quickly else you have likes of Tukraj, Kartik Sharma, Prashant Veer etc. who struggle to score at a SR of 120 and make Jadeja look like Brian Lara. velu, Manucrick and Texan 3

I didn’t say he is useless. Hacks have a spot in T20 but he is as tulla as they come. No method to the madness. Just blind slogging

Just blind slogging Probably too desperate to do something as he's running out of time and he has been tasked to up the ante due to too many one-dimensional batters in CSK. And this blind slogging is the reason he has struggled to go beyond a quickfire 15-20. He has to learn fast how to score bigger like Dube else he won't last beyond another season. maniac 1

He's pretty aggressive and if CSK team backs him he can be a very good middle order batter. Pollard and Russell were beasts but Urvil's SR is close to 200 which is amazing. He needs to figure out his game just like Dube did. That might drop is SR from 200 to 170-180 but will add consistency. Right now he goes after every ball just like Sooryavanshi but to have a long career and be more consistent you need to be a bit more selective else will end up scoring a quick-fire 15-20 which won't help him or the team. Hopefully he learns and becomes a tad more selective as he has potential to be a middle order batter and I would back him over likes of Kartik Sharma or Tukraj.

bowl_out Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Effective hack who can get 20(6) on a bad day and 60(25) on a good day. Works perfectly for IPL velu and Ultimate_Game 2

For the moment the middle order depth chart (positions 4 & 5 in the batting order) is: Iyer Patidar Rinku We have openers and top order sorted with likes of Abhishek, Samson, Sooryavanshi, Jaiswal, Arya and Ishan. Top 3 should be from these. Number 4 is where we need a replacement for SKY. And then we have Tilak, Pandya and Dube in the lower middle order. Iyer, Patidar and Rinku are the best options for that no, 4 slot. And if Axar's form drops off and he continues to play the way he's doing now, I would get Krunal in his place instead of Sundar. Urvil can get there if he becomes more consistent but for that he needs to figure out his game instead of going after every ball. Edited May 10 by Ultimate_Game maniac 1

Works perfectly for IPL Key for him is to become more like Abhishek and Arya and score 30s more consistently. 15-20 doesn't move the needle as a top order but if he starts scoring 30+ more consistently he becomes much more valuable. bowl_out 1

As a pure batter don’t think he will make it to the international side at this moment tapandrun 1
