Ultimate_Game Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Can bat and bowl! He's what we thought Nitish Reddy could become. Very impressed with him. Last match he impressed with his batting and this time with his bowling. Hope he gets a chance to bat today as well and win the match for DC Back the kid and give him chances with the A team as an all-rounder. Likes of him and Shegde needs to be tested for the lower middle order all-round position. tweaker and nevada 2
Lone Wolf Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Reddy is having a decent season as an all rounder himself with his top speeds being 140ish. Always good to have options though. I agree this Tiwari kid should be part of List A games for India A

Let all three - Madhav, Shegde, Nitish - play in A matches and back them. We want impact players and all-rounders who can play for India and backing players like Badoni makes no sense.
zen Posted May 17 Posted May 17 (edited) IPL >>>>>>>>>>>>> India A or even India series unless World Cups and major full strength series. IPL gives more earning potential and exposure to players than any India A or even non major India series. Guys like Mukesh have a very less chance of ever playing for India even if they make it to non consequential India A. Edited May 17 by zen nevada 1

If you are watching IPL hoping for someone to play India A, I am at a loss of words. Guys like Mukesh have a very less chance of ever playing for India. Which Mukesh?

express bowling Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Seems like a bits and pieces player. Neither a middle order batter nor a frontline bowler. And has not played any domestic cricket for his state yet. Mosher and Suhaan 2

Madhav seems to have cricketing smarts. He came in to bowl when RR were cruising at 160/2 in 14 overs and took over the match. In the last match he played a blinder to take DC over the line. Handled tough situations easily with both bat and the ball. Seems to have that clutch gene which is a rarity. Think of him as a right-handed Dube. Edited May 17 by Ultimate_Game
vvvslaxman Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Will wait for one more season. Generally noobs do well with a surprise factor.

A right-handed Dube.

Actually India A is very consequential and rightly so...anyway it's different formats so can't compare but... The standard of bowling say when facing Aus A or England A bowlers especially away is going to be higher than IPL where there will be a weak link in most teams Ultimate_Game 1

People don’t even follow bilateral LOIs much now. Edited May 17 by zen

They seem to see a path way between A team and test cricket which is great Easwaran and Sai are a good example of this. The former has a good FC record, makes the A team but struggles. The latter has an average FC record but makes the A team based on "eye test" shall we say and does well, so makes the test team Riyan struggling in IPL until lately but is VC of the A team because he did well for the A team last time round Vs Aus A (also credit to selectors for not confusing formats) express bowling 1
