Sooda Posted May 19 Author Posted May 19 (edited) The good Gurnoor, Manav, Prince, Harsh The not so good I wish we would look past Rohit in ODI. Both Sai and Devdutt are openers or no 3 , there's a lack of middle order options. Why not Sarfaraz Sundar in ODIs, I don't know at all And in tests, it depends how he is deployed. He isn't a front line offie. I would have liked Jain in. Sundar works as one of three spinners with Kuldeep and Harsh or Manav I fear dropping of Pant as vc is a bit of format creep. He has been decent (poor at home good away) in last test year, is he paying the price for poor IPL? Edited May 19 by Sooda
Manucrick Posted May 19 Posted May 19 India's squads are filled with contradictions Kuldeep is currently a liability in ODIs and needs to be replaced by Bishnoi In Tests picking Suthar over Kotian is completely unfair based on domestic records Sai Sudharsan is a red ball disaster Axar is Missing Again From Odi and Harsh Dubey is the only sensible call they made vvvslaxman 1
Sooda Posted May 19 Author Posted May 19 I would have rested Hardik for ODI what will he prove by playing. Absolutely nothing. NKR should be in but we can't fit both in a home ODI. I would have considered Auqib as a no 8 who can bat instead of Hardik. Why not try these options in home series Vs Afghanistan

Lone Wolf Posted May 19 Posted May 19 (edited) This is better than expected squad... Sadeja Axar pseudo all rounders dumped (hopefully) Proper spinners finally seems GG saw that our spinners were not skillful at all on helpful surfaces Gurnoor in both formats. ODIs are best for him too. Would have liked no Rohit but we know how things work in India Edited May 19 by Lone Wolf Mosher, rollingstoned and Manucrick 3
Lone Wolf Posted May 19 Posted May 19 No aqib nabi.. thank God for the IPL to expose that he is not test standard vishalvirsingh and express bowling 2

Would have liked no Rohit but we know how things work in India Agarkar made it clear Jadeja is no 1 spinner and only misses due to injury We need to realise he isn't a front line spinner anymore and is now a batting AR. Both him and Sundar can not be in the same 11 both aren't good enough test bowlers... Lone Wolf 1
test fan Posted May 19 Posted May 19 No Jaiswal in odi team but kishan is good selection. We need to get rid of Rohit Sharma. He will be walking wicket in South Africa Manucrick 1

Ultimately he's done well across Indian conditions over two seasons. He deserved a spot even over Gurnoor Manucrick 1
deepdynamo Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Mixed feeling about both squads. ODI - We must get in Jaiswal over Rohit. - Kishan is a welcome addition. - Reddy & Sundar as allrounders in ODI. Not sure. - Kuldeep has a new partner in Harsh Dubey. Lets see how he goes. - Fast bowlers are being tried out, no one is locked in apart from Boom- Arshdeep, Krishna, Gurnoor and Prince. The following top 7 looks so much better without Rohit at the top Gill Jaiswal ( Get him in ) Kohli Iyer Kishan KL Pandya TEST - Not sure about the batters again. Can they do the job v SL in SL? Jaiswal, KL, Sai, Gill, Pant, Paddikal, Jurel - Reddy & Sundar as allrounders again. We have seen this strategy before with disastrous results. - New spinners in along with Kuldeep. But what's the need to include two left arm spinners? Harsh Dubey was sufficent. Suthar is more of a darter anyways. - Three fast bowlers for one off test- fair enough. Siraj, Gurnoor and Krishna. Probable XI vs AFG Jaiswal KL Sai Gill Pant Jurel or Paddikal Sundar Dubey Kuldeep Siraj Krishna

Younger taller, too much pace, raw talent. There is no metric on which Aqib could have been selected. Gurnoor has been part of India A set up and is a long term prospect Mosher, bouncers and express bowling 3

bsriharsha Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Not sure why prasidh needs this match. Let siraj lead the line and have 2 debutants alongside him.
