This is not even an Indian second XI tbh especially the bowling. Other teams field best available for selection. India chooses for development. India 2nd xi would have likes of pant, chahal, bishnoi etc.

The bowling attack and spinners that are selected weren't the best India has to offer. They didn't select in form players. Only form players we had were Shedge Prabh , Vaibhav Anyways we win the next game and would likely sneak into the finals. Winner takes it all I just hope Ashok gets his two games and does well and so does Vaibhav. Shedge has been the find of the tour so far. Edited June 16 by Lone Wolf Manucrick and tweaker 2

He should have been here as he is fringe player mostly in Indian set up. Chahal is washed yaar.. I'd give up on Indian cricket if we see him in these developmental tours and no he doesn't makes it to Second XI as well. That's like asking Dhawan to be part of Second XI
deathmonger Posted June 16 Posted June 16 32 minutes ago, Sooda said: In my Naivety I expected India A to win this series relatively comfortably. Like I said, not same level of competition. India does relatively poorly in these developmental matches because they play uncapped players/rookies for development while the other Asian teams literally field their second best squad for silverware due to lacking it in the senior level (where India takes all of the Asian silverware and SENAI the ICC trophies). There are people in the SL team who have been in World Cup squads.

That's like asking Dhawan to be part of Second XI I am not advocating for them. Just saying what the equivalent would be. Indian management doesn’t even like players on the “fringe” to play these but players on the “fringe of the fringe”. Rutu is the only ODI fringe player to play and he was a replacement for Parag, who like Tilak is again “fringe of the fringe” as far as ODI is concerned. Not a bad strategy tbh. Guys like Rana, Abhishek, Tilak made their way to the main team in some formats and have won senior trophies. The players who won these emerging etc cups are a big flop on the international stage. You might lose but forges you well.

You might lose but forges you well. SL bowling is fairly new.. so is their captain and lower middle order. Afghans have unknown players as well. Perhaps most inexperienced lot among three sides. It's balanced over all. Lankans would have likely fielded a stronger squad if not for their Test and T20 team in Carribbean. Either way good learning curve for some of our players But yes folks like Vipraj Roy are not international standard... And lankan players play these kind of spinners in their school cricket. India didn't bring raw pace and bounce or genuine spin. Emerging cups we send worst possible teams every single time. Not sure how developed Kamboj or Gurjapneet are or even Jitesh Nehal Question marks are always there on team selections of these developmental squads that are mostly taken with franchise bias. Gurnoor Brar who was playing/performing for India A was unfairly kept as standby for Emerging and Gurjapneet got selected. And now Ashok is being flown in eleventh hour after repeated humiliations. I hope they have finally put an end and ignore Ipeeel fans opinions and select sides on merit. Edited June 16 by Lone Wolf tweaker 1

vvvslaxman Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Is this true? So India had an option to take one point? Manucrick 1
Ultimate_Game Posted June 16 Posted June 16 31 minutes ago, vvvslaxman said: Is this true? So India had an option to take one point? Yup, that's true. The match went way over time and was close to local sunset time. Umpires gave the option of splitting points but Tilak disagreed. In the Rising Stars tourney earlier this year we saw Jitesh Sharma phuck up the Super Over by not sending in Sooryavanshi and Mhatre, and here we saw Tilak idiotically pushing for Super Over and Indian batters batted almost in the dark as the sunset time passed while SL were about to complete their Super Over. All on Tilak and his idiocy. Shows us that just like Jitesh, Tilak is a moron and not ready for captaincy. Plus he shouldn't be in ODIs as his track record is poor in that format and there're much better and more deserving options available in ODIs. tweaker and rollingstoned 2
Lone Wolf Posted June 16 Posted June 16 58 minutes ago, vvvslaxman said: Is this true? So India had an option to take one point? Yeah they were adamant to force the super over. By the time India got to bat light was simply insufficient. As per SLC official super over should not have gone ahead in first place. I hope this is the end of Kanitkar, Sunil Joshi type disasters in junior team coaching staffs. Not even Pooks are this level ret@rded tweaker, Manucrick, Ultimate_Game and 1 other 4
