But asking shedge to face was a stupid move

Not even Pooks are this level ret@rded Read about the whole fiasco and Tilak's idiocy in full details here. Apparently Tilak insisted on Super Over when there was only 8 mins of daylight left and SL was supposed to bat first and used up those 8 mins. Knowing fully well the conditions and that India might bat in the dark, Tilak still pushed for Super Over. I wonder what our coaching staff and think-tank was doing and shows what a moron Tilak is and he's no different from Jitesh in terms of mental capacity Here's the link and key excerpt below... https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/ind-a-vs-sl-a-vaibhav-sooryavanshi-vishen-halambage-in-heated-exchange-after-super-over-finish-1541311 Quote The final half hour of play was full of drama as India A's left-arm quick Arshad Khan conceded only four runs off the 50th over, when Sri Lanka A needed five to win. However, with light fading fast, the umpires appeared reluctant to take the game into a Super Over. The cut-off time was 5.30 pm but it is understood the match officials had the option of extending play until they deemed natural light was not fit for purpose. India A captain Tilak Varma appeared strident in speaking to the umpires in favour of a Super Over, and the match officials agreed once Sri Lanka A were also on board. By the time the Sri Lankan batters came out to bat, it was already 6.17 pm and sunset in Dambulla was eight minutes away. There was more drama when Sri Lanka A played their Super Over. The last ball was a high full-toss from Arshad to Avishka Fernando, who failed to clear the infield and was caught, only for the TV umpire to check the delivery for height and rule it a no-ball. The Indian players had already left the ground to allow their batters to chase before the light worsened. Tilak, along with officials from the India team management, spoke to the reserve umpire and they had to come back on the field to bowl the final delivery again. Jitesh pushed himself up the order to bat in the Super Over with Sooryavanshi watching from the sidelines and here Tilak is bowling himself and pushing for Super Over to bat in the dark Manucrick 1

He needs to be removed from the leadership group Honestly dropping him from the squad completely wouldn't hurt since we have better options Tilak is terrible in ODIs just a low IQ player

Manucrick Posted June 16 Posted June 16 1 hour ago, Ultimate_Game said: Yup, that's true. The match went way over time and was close to local sunset time. Umpires gave the option of splitting points but Tilak disagreed. In the Rising Stars tourney earlier this year we saw Jitesh Sharma phuck up the Super Over by not sending in Sooryavanshi and Mhatre, and here we saw Tilak idiotically pushing for Super Over and Indian batters batted almost in the dark as the sunset time passed while SL were about to complete their Super Over. All on Tilak and his idiocy. Shows us that just like Jitesh, Tilak is a moron and not ready for captaincy. Plus he shouldn't be in ODIs as his track record is poor in that format and there're much better and more deserving options available in ODIs. Tilak is just trying to show off what an idiot. Situations like this really show you a player's true character. Ultimate_Game 1

He's mentally tough and I will always pick him in T20s. But he's not a ODI player. His stats and performances back that up. Selectors need to differentiate across formats, which they've struggled with. express bowling 1

Bat first, use up all of the remaining daylight and let SL bat in the fading light. But here he knew India had to bat in the dark. I also want to know what the coaches and think-tank were doing as they had to step up. And if they didn't that shows they're useless and are passengers

He has consistently proved he is too slow for this format as he has no real in between tempo. They not selected him also made him captain. Choosing wrong captain has a much much wider impact than choosing wrong player. One can live with choosing TIlak as ODI batsman. But he is tactically not sound to be a captain.
