vvvslaxman Posted June 17 Posted June 17 THis Paan Paragh should be backed no matter how inconsistent he is.
putrevus Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Lower order does not become magically better if bowlers cannot bat. Even in t20s it was the top order who did the heavy lifting.Without Samson doing his job as opener they were not winning anything.

In tests too , is he really the top off-spinner in Ind ???-- He can be a force multiplier in test when Ind has a settled bowling and batting line-ups where he can be good transition batter between the top order and lower order but on his own he does not make into any ind 11. This idiot Sundar does not belong in Indian team in any format. tapandrun 1
rkt.india Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Axar should have been there instead of Sundar, both better bowler and batsmen in LOIs. Sandz 1
vvvslaxman Posted June 17 Posted June 17 I think Nishant SIndhu can be tried as well. ANother guy is Kanishk CHauhan who is a big six hitting spinning all rounder

T20 wc Ind had a strong batting line-up with multiple players having a lot of experience playing at various slots and match conditions. Yes Sanju was phenomenal in the world-cup but there was proper batting lin-up , every 1 well suited to play T20s in sc and sc like conditions rollingstoned 1

You just need someone better than Sundar. He is better than him for sure. Paragh is ideal. If Abhishek improves his bowling prowess he can be one. But he is an opener now. Venkatesh Iyer ,SHedge other options.
putrevus Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Last 13.2 overs they scored 82 runs. India was 320/3. That is why Iyer and Rahul become so important for this team. Iyer cannot be too loose , he has to value his wicket he needs to finish the matches. tapandrun 1

If not that big partnership, anytime 1-2 wkts falls in bunch Ind will have nothing, can not counter attack or keep the tempo up. Depth comes from bowlers's ability to bat.India is not blessed with those kind of bowlers.I would be happy if they did their primary job well. They mostly are on same level as Mcgrath with bat without his bowling skills. Iyer is only batter in this side who can provide the impetus in the middle order if he fails, ind will always be in search for some quick runs. there is no fire-power or depth in the side, unless 1-2 batters from top5 are not there in last 10 overs ind will always be short be 20-25 runs. This is a poor batting line-up which ends at #5 and there in always a kl in this line-up. even with Pandaya it extends to 5.5 batters now how can this side be adventurous and even after batting ending at 5-6 Ind does not look like like having 5+ bowlers in the side. With such batting one would think they have a top or the line bowling which can defend anything Edited June 17 by tapandrun

India rarely finishes strong in ODIs.. we often rely on a set batter to get 10 RPO in final 6-7 overs. Lack of dedicated finishers has always been a issue tapandrun 1

Jadeja also does the same that Sundar does until 49th over. So basically we need batting all rounder. Lone Wolf 1
vvvslaxman Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Looking at the auditions in Srilanka, they may consider vipraj as an option. His bowling is toothless though. Very very risky if they go that way.
Lone Wolf Posted June 17 Posted June 17 (edited) Damn Pakistan W will play a night game... ICC always screws up viewing experience of India games. We will play a D/N fixture just to pander to India timings lol Let's hope they don't do this in 2027 WC Edited June 17 by Lone Wolf

In finals Kohli got out at 148/4 and India could not add even 100 runs in last 22 overs. IMO Iyer is too loose, it would be between , Iyer, Rahul and Kishen for two spots. Kishen has shown he does well under pressure than other two.He is a keeper too.Plus Kishen is explosive with bat. Edited June 17 by putrevus
