This is how its been with sanju, not just now but entire his career, ipls included-  He plays 1-2 big innings looking like he is the best and then series of low scores sometimes looking like he is not interested and sometime that he does not belong. Consistency has been his problem.

 

Again its where you need 2nd thought when suggesting or considering sanju/tilak/kishan in Odis wc side. These names have been suggested based of winning t20i wc and wave around it and their performance in IPl /t20s.

 

Next Odi wc in SA so need proper batter who can be consistent vs pace and bounce and if bowlers gets assistance in swing then need proper batters.

 

Even for Next t20i wc in Aus+NZ they should keep all in this in the mind before selecting the players.

If you get out ot ultra aggressive, ambitious shots that is one thing. But Sanju gets out while trying to play conventional shots.  He does have some technical issues around the off stump channel. Especially if the ball leaves him given his stance and how he doesn't move the feet towards the ball.  If he wants to be consistent in various conditiosn while being aggressive he has to find a way to play first 3 or 4 overs.

Samson was never really a consistent batter. Even in IPL he used to have a couple of outstanding innings every season followed by multiple single digit scores. I'm just glad and thank god that Samson hit the form of his life in those 3 games in the WT20. He caught lightening in a bottle not once but thrice! We must count our lucky stars on that once in a life achievement but expecting Samson has turned a corner and became consistent in mid 30s is expecting too much from him.
