Launch failures, mass resignations. Something is amiss at what is easily India's best performing scientific organization.

I don't know if it is move to private space firms or something else.  I would not be surprised if there is a foreign hand.

Skyroot Aerospace is hiring massively, offering high CTC.

ISRO was fun due to its low pressure job. Now with alamgamation of civil military infra and ISRO being at the cross roads of the one, pressure is increasing on the PSUs and ISRO to perform.

ISRO is dead atp... Skilled workforce is moving abroad and some have been seen with Indian private sector startups like Skyroot.

Vacancies are aplenty and no one seems intrested to join.

Hopefully DRDO remains unaffected...  For whatever reasons DRDO still enjoys biggest pie when it comes to whatever limited R&D budget we got.

Another reason that aided ISRO's downfall is pushing non serious PR missions like Chandrayaan  and now ever so costly Gaganyaan over strategic objectives and instead of further R&D on next gen rocket engines and launch vehicles

ISRO's downfall is due to their repeated failures and the surmounting pressure.

They were happy launching one PSLV rocket every 5 years and the other yaan projects.

The moment Space tech became part of military, ISRO started to feel the heat coz questions on the Social Media have started. To top it off the repeated failures.

ISRO scientists arent as thick skinned as HAL ones are. Probably they never thought they would become center of attraction.

DRDO too will get impacted, but eventually they have to evolve, or else they will perish.

As the private sector rise...the PSUs will face the challenge as they will offer lucrative salary.

Ideal way is, keep the strength in PSUs limited and ask them to work on R&D...once the trials of prototype are successful, outsource the mass scale manufacturing to private player with a supervising team from PSU in form of a director, technical consultant and a project manager.

Thats how the software industry operates as well, major giants keep the software development within themselves while offer licensed scaling to companies like TCS, Infosys etc for mass release and deployments.

Sad to see its downfall...NaVIc is already dead.   We might be totally dependent on US/Israel next time for MILINT while Pooks have full access to Chinese Military grade GPS.

They need to bite the bullet and use the europeans for launching satellites. Need 6 operational sats. The atomic clock which is imported is also a concern.

Should they go down this route it could be easily done in next 1-2 years.

Need to do away with vanity PR projects first...rest is upto GoI are they willing to spend big bucks or not

Spending 550 crores to purchase a spot on Axiom 4 was another one of those costly vanity PR stunt that they pulled

Skyroot is our next ray of hope @singhvivek141

We need a ray of hope, no matter where it comes from.

Space is the new battleground, so does AI. And while China & US are deacdes behind, we are still crawling. Even Russia which is under severe sanctions has a lead in it.

ISRO need to stop seeing itself as a civil PSU. Its far from that, someone need to tell them that they're deeply integrated with Indian Defence. If they want to be lazy and pathetic...they can setup shack on the beaches and sell coconut water.

After SpaceX came into picture even Nasa was relegated to the sidelines.

ISRO enjoys a lot of goodwill among the average citizens. So I believe this was a carefully planned conspiracy by the govt to shift the focus from ISRO to the private enterprise.

How could a trusted and reliable work horse over the decades like PSLV consecutively fail on two occasions. The sudden mass exodus of ISRO employees to SKYROOT just before their maiden launch also is making me believe in this direction.

And that's how it should be as much as I love ISRO

Even NASA is not making launch vehicles anymore. They focus all their energies on research. Glad ISRO is getting the BSNL treatment. I once read that ISRO is highly bureaucratic doesn't even maintain a code repository like GitHub or SVN. Instead the employees exchange files with each other through email.
