Are Gambhirs personal choices damaging team India?

Gambhir should never have been coach of team India, his bjp closeness got him the job.

 

now he is promoting his stupid ass choices like prasidh Krishna over more derserving players like brar or shami

 

as much as people like Modi, this exact kind of things brings the downfall of popular personalities in a democracy 

 

a lower rung bjp guy using bjps name to get Indian team job and now having no accountability.

hmm...i am not sure about his BJP closeness... he did well in IPL as coach and got his contract....

 

But he has not idea about what test cricket is....

 

In which world... Dhruv plays as pure batsman... sarfaraz would have 100X times better than Dhruv and there are many dserving players in indian setup.... 

 

Sundar was automaitc choice until last series was beyond pathetic....and for sundar ahswin was sacrficied and that totally disgusting... Ashwin had good 3 to 4  years to offer to indian cricket as a Test Cricketer

 

Its sanju who saved the face of gambhir in recently concluded T20 would cup otherwise...he alone could have made sure india doesnt reach semi-finals with his pathetic selection and coach

If I remember correctly, he wasn't the coach. Chandrakant Pandit was the coach. Gambhir had an ambiguous title like team mentor

BJP closeness is pure propaganda created by anti BJP peoples.  He deserve to become limited over coach after successful IPL career.

In LSG, Andy Flower was head coach

 

Mentor is basically an additional position created just like Sachin for MI after his retirement

 the common factor being GG in all of them( even in 2 icc titles as a player and india coach)... If it's a coincidence, then it's an incredible one

I am talking of coaching only and before he became the India coach.

 

You are right he has done well in white ball as coach

He has won two ICC trophies for India in limited-overs cricket. If he wins another ICC trophy, such as the ICC World Cup, his job will be complete. Yes, he failed in Test cricket, but he cannot be blamed for everything, as our batsmen have failed at home as well.

 

Now GG job is to throw out  Rohit from odi team

I think Gambhir gets extra hate for his association with BJP. However I don’t think his appointment had anything to do with BJP. Everyone used to love his “interview swag” , he obviously played 2 of the clutchest innings in Indian cricket history, and had some good track record in IPL as captain and then  as coach/ mentor. The problem is powers that be made him an all format coach when he never coached in the any other formats. That’s the core issue  

 

 Dravid had coached India A and U-19 in all formats + been captain/ coach in IPL. VVS has been coach of India-A, U-19 and coach/ mentor with SRH and has infact done a good job with SRH consistent track record of making playoffs. 
 

Gambhir has only done commentary and IPL tamasha coaching which is probably the easiest job in the world with 100 other coaches/ analysts  working for you in every dept.

How is sidelining a youngster based on some dressing gossip a perfect case of heart in right place if that is true.

 

It is perfect case where coach has his own set of etiquette and having his own agendas rather than best interest of team and players he is supposed to be coaching.

 

There is nothing great about Gambhir and his coaching philosphy.

Yes I only want him out in Tests. Different formats need different approaches

It is a problem if selections are made based on personal choices, regardless of who the coach is.

Was he ever a successful coach in the IPL? Being a mentor is much different.
