Gambit
Das and Ramesh. Check out the start made by this duo in SL 7 years ago - End of over 20 (maiden) India 16/0M Muralitharan 3-2-3-0 - City End S Ramesh 9* (61b) SS Das 6* (60b) Match State: Lunch - Day 1 That's lunch here at Galle 20 overs bowled, 16 runs scored. It has been very slow going. Important thing is India has not lost a wicket. I remember bleeding from my eyes after that session got over. Thank god those days are over. But to their credit, they did have a 50+ opening stand after following on in THAT test. Link to comment
Cricketics
hence i say, Sehwag is the best thing happend to Indian Cricket in this millenium Link to comment
Predator_05
They batted really well in the 3rd test at Colombo, 100+ opening partnerships in both innings. Middle order couldn't build on it though and SL won by an innings. Both of them were crap batsmen. Especially Das Link to comment

fineleg
Can anyone remember the last time Dravid hit a six in test cricket? it is test cricket, and thats not the most pertinent stat. 10k runs - does not matter if even a single six is in it. ODI - diff story. Link to comment
cochise
Yes, I am well aware of the difference between tests and ODI's...but do you remember when was the last time he did it? Dravid of course, would have been perfect for timeless tests played in the past. Maybe we can lobby to bring them back. Link to comment

coffee_rules
Difference between ODIs and Tests. Difference between Sehwag's ability and role in the team v/s Dravid's. Sehwag can purchase shots, while Dravid can keep away the best of the deliveries. Link to comment
Sachinism
Who opened the batting for India vs WI when we were scoring at a similar rate? It was a few years back, but not that long ago Link to comment
Lord
Who opened the batting for India vs WI when we were scoring at a similar rate? It was a few years back, but not that long ago jaffer n dravid i think? it was a very difficult wicket Link to comment
Ram
Ramesh was O.K.. At one point, he was averaging in the mid-40s and was one of our more consistent performers. Das was average, but had too many gaping holes in his technique for an international opener. Link to comment
triam
India vs SA, 2nd test Das and Dasgupta were the openers and Dravid one down. MAn it was brutal to watch. Link to comment
Captain of Bhangra
Can anyone remember the last time Dravid hit a six in test cricket? Before this Mohali Test: Balls faced: 24,750 Sixes: 14 Last six came against Bangladesh in Dhaka, 25th May 2007. It was blasted over Long-on, off the bowling of Mohammed Ashraful. It wasn't the toughest of opposition, highlighted by the fact that all the first 4 Indian batsmen made centuries in the first innings, which at one stage, read 408-0, before Dravid himself was first man out, for 129. Both openers, Karthik and Jaffer, had retired hurt/ill prior to this. Finished on 610-3, and then Zaheer Khan removed Javed Omar first ball. Final margin was an innings and 239 runs... If you want to take Bangladesh out of the equation, the last six was against West Indies in Basseterre, 26th June 2006. It was again blasted over Long-on, this time off Marlon Samuels, in the 4th innings. It held up play as it landed on the roof. Dravid finished unbeaten on 68 as the match was drawn... Link to comment
