spiritual :om:
I would like to know your perspective on what being spiritual means. As Sree would say, this is intriguing...so can you elaborate?

I would say I have no faith in religion although aspects Bhagvad Gita are very appealing purely as a philosophical self help book. From all that I have seen, I am convinced that religion is a biggest scam that tapped into the fears and insecurities of people. I am however beginning to love and feel complete awe of nature. I would say going through Buddha's works was a revelation. I think Gautam Buddha might be the greatest scientist in his study of human mind and body. There is absolutely nothing left to abstract notions and imagination.

The thing that annoyed me most were the loud cries of "God saved us! Its a miracle!" right after the tsunami. Quite a few people I knew personally lost their lives and many more lost a family member or a close friend. And coastal Tamil Nadu is infested by the godly men and women who know the will of god.

Totally Spiritual. But do not visit temple, Mosque, Church or Gurudwara... I partly believe in their teachings as they are somewhat aligned with some one who is towards spirituallity. There is lot of misunderstanding/misguiding in them. Strongly oppose that but just to myself. Dont want to correct any religion or people who follow them. NO rituals. Just peace.

Atheist but I love GOD - Whether he is there or not, money rolls under his name and helps the economy I used to, but I find it totally odd when I see someone picking up a photo frame with a mans face - believed to be god and somehow he has powers.. it makes the person comfortable and gives a false sense of belief, so its OK

Can something without a god called a religion? I Know Scientology is a "religion" but most outside of it call it a cult. Is there any proper religion with god or god like powers?
L Ron Hubbard (founder) was a science fiction writer before he founded Scientology :bebored:

I think so. Religion basically only offers a fairy tale. The idea of God is more to do with more existential questions of meaning of life or the origin of our existence.

Buddhism ? Some call it a philosophy because it rejects the concept of a supreme being.

I know. He even said before forming Scientology, that the only way to make insane amount of money was to start a religion. And so he did.
