I've already started preparing for Windies tour: Vijay 17 Jun 2009, 2010 hrs IST, PTI CHENNAI: His selection in the West Indies-bound Indian squad may have surprised most but not Murali Vijay, who says he has already started his preparation for the four-match ODI series. "It is a great feeling to serve the country in any form of cricket. I am delighted and looking forward to the tour," Vijay said after being named in the 16-men squad. "I am confident and geared up to the challenges. I am in my best frame of mind and have set myself the goal to achieve success on this tour. I have already started preparations," Vijay said. Instead of worrying about the West Indies pace attack, the 25-year-old cricketer, who has played his only Test match against Australia in Nagpur last year, said he was concentrating on his own strength. "More than what the rival bowlers are going to do, I am determined and already have plans as to how to be successful there," he said. Link to comment

Guest Hiten.
He is a very good fielder too and that will only strengthen his case of being included in the line up as a specialist opener. Good luck Murali Vijay (wow a short southie name...he feels like one of "us" :giggle:). Link to comment
fineleg
:cantstop: omg ICF gonna have festive nite tonite... Separate threads being created by some folks here for "festivities" for Badri, M. Vijay and is there one for KKD? On a serious note: BTW - I think Abhinav Mukund should have been ahead of M. Vijay. I think Mukund has been doing quite well in the previous seasons. Link to comment

Cricketics
I hope this move doesn't turn out to be as ugly as picking Wasim Jaffer for odi series in South Africa instead of Sehwag, Gambhir Link to comment
sreej
Wow.. it's amazing how every time a new chief selector is chosen the likelihood of someone from his Zone being selected increases. I hope M Vijay performs in the series especially since he has a nice average limited overs game besides T20s. Link to comment

Sign of working ???? Which super 8 game is your opinion based on ? We missed V-factor at top, had he been in playing XI we would be been worried about semi final game tomorrow. Anyways i like Vijay he should play all games, lets see how he fairs against a quick attack. Link to comment

coffee_rules
Rohit is back to being a Nohit. He was a Nohit even in NZ in the ODIs. Only in IPL and a few warmup games he was a hit. He is living proof of the saying - '(Poor) Class in Permanent, Form is Temporary'. Link to comment
