Our performance notwithstanding, this tourney has been fun so far. Ind-Pak game had it's riveting moments. England have sprung a surprise. RSA went down in flames. Australia have been patchy. NZ are starting to live up to their potential. SL are hanging on by a thread as are India. Most importantly, we have seen a green mamba of a track at the Wanderers. ODIs needs tracks like these. I would rate this as a really good tourney thus far.

if we had played both matches at wanderes we would be in the semis already.our trundlers(medium pacers) would have looked world class and knocked over the pakis easily.flat pitches are our enemy. note to BCCI,dont make the pitches flat for both the upcoming series unless you have yuvi and sehwag in our team.we will not outscore teams otherwise.

^ Dat works both ways, our batsmen are not particularly good versus the moving ball- especially coming from Gul, Aamer etc Knowing the way we work they will inevtably be one pitch were its green as sin on day one, we will of course bat and be bowled out for 100 on that day, then the sun will emerge, grass will dissapear, itll become flat as **** and the oppos SAf/SL will score 600...

our batsman might be iffy on green pitches but all the pakis are clueless on them.i think we win most games if played on such a pitch against pakistan.

You kidding? We will win 10/10. They lost to Ireland on a green top for gods sake. That too on Ireland's debut WC.

After the terrific Oz-Pak game, this is definitely the best multi-team tourney since the 2003 WC.

This tournament in hindsight has been a lottery. When you add rain washouts and toss advantage in day night games as factors in a knockout format - luck plays a huge role. India has been at the wrong end of the stick as far as both these factors are concerned. A round robin format - similar to the way IPL is played or the 92 WC was played - 2 matches a day - 8 best teams is the way to go. This would seperate the top 4 from the rest - as 7 games should be good enough to prove yourself. If ICC really wants to make sense of the ICC Championship alot of the meaningless ODI series must be chopped off the schedule and a one month window must be made available for such a format. Little wonder, that this format is soon going to find itself defunct.

History is history for a reason. Historic trend would say Bangladesh would lose 50 out of 50 test matches, but recently they have been winning 2/50. :nervous:

I'd agree that the quality of games have been high. but I dont think the tournament format is any good. To me this CT has been reduced to a triangular, where after 3 games you play the finals. The only difference being that you have a semi finals in between. Given that there were only a few teams in either group, each team could have played the other twice. That way the two teams that qualify are ensured to be the two best in the group. South Africa definitely would have made it with three more games to play. Such a format would have stretched the tournament by at most a week. Wonder why ICC didnt think of that. IMO the two T20 world cups were far more competitive & offered a fair chance for the consistent teams to go thru.

a best tournament should have the best teams fighting it out in S/F.luck,injuries have been huge factors n Ind n SA have been knocked out.
