How did Allan Donald all of a sudden become the best candidate for bowling coach? didn't he recently work with England? was there any significant improvement?

Moreover, Donald offers the mentor role which is very anti-video analsysis and anti-biomechanical coaching and this is the sort of coaching that people are criticising Prasad of. It is certainly a case of ignorance being bliss, here.

I agree with you abt Donald criticism of Sreenath....but abt Prasad.... When was the last time when an Indian coach came out in the open with honest criticizm of Indian players.....

Perhaps because it is unprofessional to come out in the media about a player who you will work with in the future and who you are working with in public. Just because a problem is not noted in public, does not mean it is not noticed.

There is no guarantee Donald or any other bowler will do miracles. You have to keep trying until you settle for one.

Good point. Donald worked with Sree for couple of weeks and had the audacity of coming out and blaming Sree's work ethics. Is it really ethical of him to do so ? I understand he was his temporary coach but lambasting his student in front of media (who is already waiting for such quotes on one of the notorious Indian cricketer) is just not done. Prasad could've done the same when he was in charge, citing bowlers' work habits, their inability to comprehend the art of bowling in death overs and what not. I am not saying Donald was lying about Sreesanth, but I don't think it is fair for him to judge Sreesanth on the basis of 2-3 weeks that he spent coaching him.

Donald wasn't lying or lambasting Sreesanth. Most of what he said was geared toward positive criticism. He didn't say Sreesanth sucked, he said he needs to improve this, do better at this etc etc in order to be a better bowler. He's not contracted by the BCCI so he has no gag order imposed on him and it's about time the rest of the world realized just how poor Sreesanth's work habits are.

No coach can bring anything that is not with the bowlers. It is a commendable job if he can sustain the talent thats available. Irfan is an example. We dont want him t bowl at 150ks, we would have been happy if he had sustained the swing he had earlier in his career, at a brisk pace.

Those slamming should remeber prasad that under his interim coaching leadership we did very well. Test series win in england and 20/20 wc chapms. It seems that cos he was a medium pacer who relied on swing and seam. Its automatically assumed that he advises bowlers to cut down pace and look for movement. There is no evidence he advises this and is purley myths and gossip. Please remeber that during his bowling coaching Z Khan has been awesome, should he then not take credit for that? Also for last 90 years we harldy ever produced serious pacers, is that his fault as well? I have a feeling that a new bowling coach will come in and you won't suddenly see the brilliant bowling form the team you may expect. Also dont think a new fileding coach will change things that much as am sure Robin has been attempting to drill in the basics to people like Nehra. But at international level you should not be having to coach basics but unforynatley he has had to. I guarantee no new super coach is going to turn the fans fav Nehra in to a greyhound

Donald slammed sree in public. Now kirsten doing same with team india, with leaks to media. Saffies not being proffesional here. Sack him and bring back the duo who did actually lead us to No 1 in tets , plus 20/20 WC victory and did all the hard work in making us a great team. Kirsten took over and just took us that extra mile when these boys had run the marathon. The indian duo did a top job and never got the praise they deserved.

Prasad atleast had some sort of vision and a passion for the job. Of course, most people want a big name as the coach. People think that having McGath as the coach will mean all our bowlers start bowling like him.
