Because there is so much Mohit Chauhan in the way he sung it. Listen this line at the start "kyu darmiyaan phir ruki ruki" its Mohit Chauhan style there and "kismato se milte hain do dil yahaan.." The way he stretches the words so much like Mohit.

If you compare him to Rafi or Kishore then he is not that good imo. :--D Yes he is not of the calibre of KK or Rafi sahab but this guy transformed music in 90s. His quality of churning blockbusters was unmatched. He might not be versatile but was brilliant at what he was good at. He is underrated in the sense that purists look down on him due to nasal touch in some of his songs. ATG like mukesh had a strong nasal touch but that doesn't have any bearing on his greatness.
