That, in conjunction with behaviors of others (the system around you, which is also predisposed to act in a certain way), makes certain outcomes more probable than others. Over time, the recurrence of the above phenomenon could be seen as the act of destiny.[/quote'] yes i agree completely that even the choices you make are somehow determined by the environment you grew up in and your talents, which are somethings you cant control and which are pre-determined. ill give a simple cricketing example: say you've two bowlers: ajit agarkar and wasim. now they've just bowled a bouncer to a batsmen, and they're thinking about what to do on the next delievery. wasim because of his innate belief and talent thinks the ideal next delivery wud be a yorker and he wud easily cleanup the batsman. now ajit thinks of the same thing, but he worries that his yorker will turn to a fulltoss. hence he decides to bowl an outswing back of length in the hope of getting an edge assuming the batsman will be tentative after the previous delivery. so what happens is that wasim bowls a vicious yorker and completely dismantles the stumps. whereas ajit tries to bowl a back-of-length ball, turns it into a long-hop, and the batter smashes it for four. lesson: although both guys had the same choices and they believed they were in complete control of what they want to do, wasim goes onto be one of the greats, while ajit is pre-destined to be the epic long-hopper/1 bad ball an over bowler that we all know of. this was my humble approach to explain this concept...

As with most things, the human brain is pre-programmed in certain ways so as to seek philosophical interpretations from what are essentially random events. Its our in-built crutch mechanism that keeps us going during tough times.

Naren was destined to meet Ramakrishna & the latter was awaiting him, and asked him "What took you so long?"

Remember that science cannot and should not be an ideology; it is a self-correcting discipline. Except for a few laws of nature, nothing is "TRUE" in science, as it is continually self-correcting. Moreover, science is only as good as the men and women who do the work. If they're flawed ideologues rather than objective scientists, the science itself is flawed.
