^ but Yuvi can also contribute with left arm spin' date='since Ojha is certain to be dropped.Raina's offspin is crap tbh for test cricket[/quote'] yes he can contribue with the ball, but he'll struggle against mendis, malinga, and needs more than one attempts to stop a ball while fielding

I have never rated Yuvi as a test batsmen & Raina is one of my favs . Raina is a compulsive hooker & anything short he tries to go after in T20s/ODI's , but in tests all he has to is leave those short ones alone ..& he will be fine . Playing short balls well is one of the least important things in tests , if Ganguly could survive , any one can !

^ n by one innings,u know Raina has? i'm okay with leaving Yuvraj out of future squads, but clearly selectors r happy with him at 6 so far.dunno why 1 innings should change that, especially since Yuvraj is doing okay.

Raina should play and be given a decent run in the team. What kind of signal is it sending out if a youngster who on his debut scores a critical century is then dropped to make way for Dhoni's friend to return??? Have to pick players on merit and performance. Raina scored a ton and on debut, he stays.

^ Raina is Dhoni's friend too.remember he was invited to his wedding while Yuvi wasnt.n ther is a CSK connection too:--D

Yes. I saw the determination and the resolve. I did not see the entire innings, only a part of it and that part clearly showed the solid defense, the technique Yuvi never had, the patience and the mental fortitude Yuvi always lacked. Yes, Yuvi has been okay at no6 so far, but okay is not good enough.

[/quote'] i assume u only saw him batting against spinners.did u see how uncomfortable he looked against pacers wen they bowling bouncers.m this was on a dead.imagine wat'll happen if the track has some life. about the patience,i dunno wat u r talking about.Raina was charging down the track way too often against the spinners, playing far too many risky strokes.luckily it worked.it may not always

then drop him from future squads, but clearly he was chosen as no. 6 for the tour.why should one innings change that?if Raina scored a ton,Yuvi also scored a ton against similar attack in warmup game n 50 in Galle against Murali,Malinga. Raina i admit is in form, but so is Yuvi

Leaving out Raina in the last test match will not affect his morale or ego (if he has any) but if UV is made to sit out, it will definitely affect his ego (and he has plenty of it), if not morale..and he might as well get angry and an easy reason to not perform in ODIs and even in WC. So the best thing is to keep this egoistic monster in good humour till he himslef self-destructs by partying and merry making and fades into oblivion.. Raina can wait..

It could work the other way round as well. Raina gets picked, does well again, Yuvi forced to think aah there goes my test spot, I need to work hard, cut down on the flab and get fitter and I better start firing in the one dayers to get that spot back.....

It's UV we are talking about..Usually players like this FIRE once or at the most twice in a series and expect that they shouldn't be even bothered or asked to perform on a regular basis. POST-IPL most of the egoistic players are just looking to do enough to float their boat. The number of injury cases have also increased, POST-IPL...

Who make in final XI..Yuvraj or Raina? This is very typical situation to select UV or Raina in final XI. But unfortunately Indian team captain Dhoni might be criticized by critics.... If Raina in Yuvraj out...... Some people will say dhoni selecting his CSK XI team player If UV in Raina out...... Some other people will say dhoni not concentrating on player's performance. Many controversies will be there Let's see what will happen...

I'm not a fan of players being dropped after being forced to sit out a game through injury just because the replacement did well.

It wouldn't be discussed for the other batsmen/keeper in the team, trust me on that one. It does seem a bit unfair to drop him now, it must the high standards that the other six have set so far. I was never a fan of his inclusion in the test squad but would be surprised if he was dropped now. And for those suggesting Yuvi's bowling is useful and Raina cant bowl, stick to ur T20s.

Or rather i would say, that yuvaraj will not really care. He will have more time and energy to play ODI and IPL tamasha and make big bucks rather than slog out in test cricket and make peanuts.
