He'll probably start the way Ishant did in 1st Inn, hopefully he will find his way in 2nd Inn.

Vijay opening doesn't fill me with confidence. He may somehow click in T20 but in the longer formats looks a bit out of his depth. Admittedly Gambhir has been a bit off recently but if Vijay is the best back-up we have then we've got problems.

Actually Vijay was a total flop in T20s for India - he also failed in the ODIs in Zimbabwe. As regards his Test credentials, he looks a decent player to me but needs to start converting his 40's and 50's into bigger scores, especially with Mukund and Rahane making a case for themselves.

On a different note. let us forget about Starting 11. Starting 6 of commentary team hould not contain any of the one we had for the first test. Hogg was absolutely terrible.

What kinda wicket can we expect?
Any recent matches in B'lore? Pitch conditions. Will MSD ask for any "special pitch"? Ideally a turner will be good! They dont have good spinners, we have a couple of decent ones. And, except M.Clarke the rest are not terrific against spin.

The first 4 days' date=' it's a patta pitch. But the 5th day is a lot different. [b']We need to win the DAMN TOSS.
:((:(( We can win anything but a Toss!

if the wicket is anything like what we saw in the ipl then we are in trouble if we have to play 2 relative new batsmen against the aussies quicks who bowled their heart out in the match- that pitch had a lot of bounce.

Hogg should gtfo the commentary team, always irritating and whenever the Aussies appeal its out for him.

Parthi Patel OMG.. is this guy alive.. if yes someone please go shoot him before Srikant decides to give him a chance.. BTW Srikant is on a role picking up the chennai guy over a bunch of players who have performed in league cricket.. Why are these selectors so baised towards their zones that they forget to pick the real talent

It is a strange one. Agreed Mukund got a 100 and a 60+ against Mumbai' date=' but so did Rahane. he got a 100 against the Aussies & also against ROI. As usual selection logic defies conventional wisdom.[/quote'] Not at all. Abhinav Mukund has been scoring runs by the bushel for a long, long time now. And he is left handed too. Rahane may count himself slightly unlucky. He played well - despite getting a few chances from the Rest of India camp.

What should be done is pick Sreesanth. The question is instead of whom. If the wicket at Bangalore is somewhat like Mohali - in terms of not assisting spin - then there is no point in going with 2 spinners. And in any case, with just 2 seamers we are not ready to put pressure on the opponents in the first innings if they bat first. So it depends on the surface. Going by past matches, I would take Sreesanth and Ishant and drop Ojha. Tough call yes, but one for team balance. Ishant deserves a break after his spirit shown in the last match. And Murali Vijay is a like for like replacement for Gambhir. Not much doubt there.

I like that, Sree for Ojha and Vijay for Gambir.

Damn, doesn't sound good though at least Bhajji should enjoy the bounce.
