LOL! We have the Kings. Yusuf Pathan S. Tiwary R. Jadeja Irfan Pathan Have your pick. :hysterical: S.Tiwary was clueless, just like Yusuf would be against pacers! Probably, Yusuf == S.Tiwary, but Yusuf can bowl a bit so, Yusuf has an edge there. R.Jadeja would have done the same though - 4 runs off 15 balls  before the final winning runs

Thank God for S. Raina belting the Aus bowlers! Blitzkrieg! That changed the balls-runs equation. Otherwise this run chase would have been mucked up by the likes of S.Tiwary

Tiwary is a good cricketer.. this is his debut and you cannot expect him not to be nervous at all .. 12 off 17 is a decent effort especially when he is hounded by Aussies with 7 players inside the 30 yards circle .. hope he replaces Dhawan as opener in the next match to see his skills

Finey...spare the poor fella.....will you?? The guy was playing Aussiess....He will be fine... Just stay positive. If he has a chance let him prove himself. Dont judge him based 10-15 deliveries he faced.

Alright dial. Its just debut, I agree. But he sorta looked clueless and just wild swishes at the ball. Hopefully he can do better over time. I just hope he is not one other Yusuf Pathan (and Yusuf can bowl 4-5 overs, so he has that advantage over S.Tiwary).

This guy’s tailor made for the ODI games, but no.7 is too low for him. He’s not really a finisher, but an explosive batsman who can take it to the bowlers in the middle overs. He generally takes some time to warm up to the challenge, which is why If we expect him to come in at 7 and close games off, we’re in for a disappointment. But once he is, he can cause some serious damage very quickly. The Indian team has some tough decisions to make. They obvious like Tiwary, but are slightly confused as to where to slot him in the batting order. If we’re to play him at no.7, my take is that we might as well have Uthappa. He’s a much better finisher than Tiwary.

Tiwary is the REALLL DEALL!!! Fineleg, please.... playing forward defensive shot doesnt make you a elite cricketer... Ask Akash Chopra.... Tiwary has a heart of lion ..check out his IPL and championleague matches, where most players stand on the backfoot to Tait, this was playing most of his shots coming outside the crease.... believe it or not, this guy is the real deal and HE WILL OUR TRUMP CARD for WC2011.... P.S.- Ashwin is another awesome player.. Thank god we are done with slumdog Jadeja

rahulrulezz, I am fully supportive of team mgmt giving opportunities for S.T. in both Aus and NZ odi series. They have selected him. Lets give him the full 5-6 matches, and check him out. I agree with that. However, with respect to technique, just plonking your front foot and swiping wont take you anywhere. Case in point - Yusuf Pathan and Robin Uthappa. Nowadays, Uthappa has tightened his game a little bit better, and is back in contention. Cowlashing wont work all the time. Look at Raina, he is an aggressive player but not a cowlasher. Hopefully Uthappa will be able to reinvent like that, and hopefully Saurabh Tiwary will prove to be better than what Yusuf Pathan did. This is International cricket, not domestic. Just plonk your front foot and swing - and you will struggle more often than not.

I dnt think you have watched IPL or champions league that is why you are saying this....Yusuf Pathan never smashed genuine quick pacers....he is a spinner beater while Tiwary did it against the likes of Steyn and Kallis on bouncy pitches of SA and did it in some style....you need to understand he was just trying too hard to get to the finish line...that's it...we will see whether he does as good as everyone is hoping of him...he still has a long way to go in 50 overs and New Zealand series will be the best opportunity for him to show his mettle.

He may have his moments though, like Dhoni did.
