kabira Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 I had 75 minutes time for my flight to India. I had 30 mins to spare, managed to answer nature's call as well. If your terminal is same, you should be fine.
coffee_rules Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Sometimes if there are 3 or 4 flights, then the wait time will be more. They will open every cabin luggage of every person getting into the flight.

It probably will be a touch and go affair, but at least it will be exciting and you will also get some useful cardio in, when you run between the gates. :--D

During that time, there was moderate rush, but they handled it well, and it was no problem. Not sure how it is when there is heavy rush.

My wife and kid had just 20 minutes to go, but yet no preference at security. She kept on shouting but to no avail. Worse, she was thoroughly checked for child food and milk powder cans. Since then I avoid Heathrow. You cant enter lounges unless you are business or executive class. Cannot even buy a stay in the lounge. Horrible food options. They forgot to unload stroller and through checked it to the destination. terrible customer service post that. Everybody's experience is different with airlines but my preference since has been via Brussels, Frankfurt , Singapore or Abu Dhabi

Cut it really close since it was a huge airport and was very crowded at that time. If you can find the approx. places of the 2 gates in the airport, i suppose you can transfer efficiently. Personally, i never choose 1 hour between transfer. Learned my lesson when a domestic flight got delayed. Still made the flight but the anxiety of will i make it or wont i make is not worth it. Besides i like airports and would like to spend more time in them. i guess its worth the fact that you end up saving 2-3 hrs of aimless walking around the airport and the anxiety goes away within a minute of stepping onto the required terminal

But since then i have had to transit in bombay, delhi, dubai and abu dhabi, i would just take the 1 hour and get out of these airports asap.

So ideally they should take care of luggage transfer. Flight departs from the same terminal at which Delhi flight lands. edit - Ideally I wouldn't even have been concerned about this as this is Luftansa's headache not mine. When they are issuing ticket they bloody have to ensure. But i had seen this thread from Finey which made me believe that one must own up this worry as well :mad:. thanks finey for instilling a more responsible person in me.

Its actually OUR headache, as Lufth or British dont seem to care if we miss our connection because incoming flight gets delayed. Minor delays, they will adjust. But short connections can be tricky. Airlines are not behaving as responsible as they used to behave 10-15 yrs ago.

That's a lie.. a total BS. I've missed planes because of that.. i got re-routed once at the frankfurt airport because Lufthanza was late by an hour and half.. Facts: 1st Flight was delayed cuz of their mistake (technical probs) 2nd flight take off time was 30 mins after i got out of the first flight 2nd flight terminal was at the other end of airport (was told you are not going to make it, dont try, doors are closing in 5 mins) I had boarding passes for both flights in my hand Had US passport Got re-routed through Dubai and reached destination 12 hours late This affected at least 25 of us who were on that plane.. (mostly Indians)

Lufthansa's responsibility is to take you from oringal place and drop you at your final destination.. they dont care if you are missing your connecting flight or you get to your destination 1 day late.. so dont be in false impression.
