Will tomorrow be his last game?

Will tomorrow be his last game?

  1. 1.

    • If India wins, he will retire from the format tomorrow.
    • If India wins, it will be his last game, but we won't get to find out till later.
    • Regardless of the result, he will not retire and shall carry on till 2015.

I find it strange that on an Indian cricket forum such as this, there's been such little talk about the possibility that Sachin might be playing his last ever game in the fifty over format tomorrow. Perhaps the thought is too painful to discuss. To coin a phrase from Sanjay Manjrekar, is it the elephant in the room nobody wants to talk about? Or is it that this somewhat depressing thought is cancelled out by the hysteria of a possible world cup win for Sachin on his home ground? Maybe it's just all too much for us to fathom. So, do you think he'll retire if India wins it? I'll have my say now. First, and whatever happens, I can't see him carrying on till 2015. Second, he was never going to come out and link this world cup with his retirement because it would be the mother of distractions to the team. If India do win tomorrow, again I cannot see Tendulkar announcing his retirement amidst the immediate frenzy that would follow. That is not Sachin's way. He would not want to do anything to detract from the achievement of the team as a whole. So in conclusion, there will not be no retirement tomorrow, win or lose.

No ' date=' he'll be just 41 years young at 2015 Worldcup , so there are all possibilities that he'll play till 2015.[/quote'] Honestly think it is realistic, his batting will never die as it is naturally good. It is only about his body and stamina.

I don't think Sachin will retire after tomorrow. Win or Lose. He will choose a smaller occassion. Also this match will be Murali's last. I don't think Sachin will want to take anything away from that.

Yeah good point about Murali.

I think he will retire after 50 centuries. Might play until the Champions trophy as that one has eluded us...I know we shared it with Sri Lanka..but I don't count that as a win win.

ICC is strongly considering abolishing the Champions Trophy...in all likelihood we've seen the last of it.

He is being put under so much pressure. Might have been better to get the 100th ton in an earlier game. Now everyone is talking about it. Even the golfer Lee Westwood has predicted the hundred tomorrow.

I hope he retires from IPL and continues with ODI until 2015. It is so painful to see him throwing himself around in a meaningless comedy game which even many of ICFer's can also play.

Depends upon iwhether Sachin is interested in getting 50 ODI 100s but if Ind wins, he might want to go on a high (and that's a very likely result)
