WHen you get a chance watch this video. Good explanation of Marshall's strengths. Watch exactly at 4:10 and surprise yourself...
after watching this video, I can certainly say he was 140+ bowler..pretty much like Kemar Roach, skiddy and had skills..

As Sreesanth proves merely bowling 140 isn't good enough. Yes pace is necessary, but I would say 135+ is good enough for now. If we can find someone quicker and consistent then good but as of now, I am keeping my expectations realistic. Bowlers who can bowl at that speed and be quality bowlers are : Ishant Sharma RP Singh Sreesanth ( although he seems like a village idiot to me ) Irfan Pathan ( there is no doubt if he sorts his action he can bowl a yard quicker ) This is good enough for now for me. We will see what comes of Varun and others

This guy has looked good in some of the domestics. Excellent prospect and should be earmarked for the next WC. The interviewer could have done better. :hehe: MRF Foundation kicks ass! :yess:

Sreeshanth does not bowl 140k. Whenever he bowls 140 he is tough to negotiate, like he showed in his first 2 overs. But he was not fit enough and could not sustain that pace after 2 overs and couldn't control line and length. He is not a consistent 140 bowler. So dont say he bowled 140 and got hit. Its his mental weakness and bad work ethic that lead to his downfall, not 140k because he does not bowl 140k.

^But he does bowl over 140 when in rhythm although he has no clue where it is going. As for the fact that merely bowling 140 + will make someone tough to negotiate, Mohd. sami says HI. Look no doubt pace is important. Agarkar bowled more consistently over 140 + than most bowlers I have seen in Indian cricket. But if a bowler can't control his direction and length, it is fodder for batsmen at this level.

Yeah..he is tough to negotiate in 140s his first 2 overs showed it. when he is not in rhythm he does not bowl 140 either. Problem is he does not get his rhythm right most of the time so he neither gets pace nor accuracy. and Agarkar has 280 odd wickets in ODIs for India 3rd highest wicket taker in ODIs for India....

its the accuracy of length and line that makes a good bowler .Sreesanth lacks in that department seriously .I feel its his attitude that is to be blamed .He looses his control very early, if he is being hit for few fours .

Great Pace = Good Bowler (maybe) Great Accuracy = Good Bowler (consistently) Great Pace + Accuracy = Great Bowler For India to dominate India needs both great pace and accuracy.

All 140+ kmph bowlers, Ind's phassssst brigade: - Sree - Yadav - Varun And with Zak around, the opposition would be :nervous: :P
Sridevi can only shake his booty fast Yadav and Varun who? They sound like charecters from a Yash Raj movie. On the serious note, why go for pace when line and length is the key? Munaf is a good bowler. He isnt quick but i wouldnt mind that considering the brain he has.

Bullshit,If you are able to bowl at 149km/h and 140+regularly as he has done in australia or t20 worldcup ,he is a fast bowler but we have to remember his strength is swing so he does not need to bowl at 140+ also nobody is consistent 140 bowler in the world you have to know when to up the pace and slow down other wise you become tait.in india it is not easy to sustain pace but sree has done that even and against australia in the test series he was 145km/h ,Ishant and sree are rhythm bowlers when they get it right they are unplaybale but consistency is missing.which happens to most indina fast bowlers who peak mostly at 29-33. 2w-RaJjumLo LOOK AT THE VIDEO HIS FASTEST BALL CAME IN THIRD SPELL .Also who cares about odi cricket he has to develop as a test bowler is what i care.

Bowling 140 in one series is not enough...Look at other genuine pacers..they bowl quick where ever they play. Ishant and Sreeshanth are not genuine quick bowlers. They are rhythm bowlers. They do not have the stamina and fitness likes of Johnson, Morkel, Steyn, Roach have. They can bowl quick once in a while a spell but not consistent. In cricket consistency is important whether its batting, pace, line and length and Sreeshanth has nothing. He needs to get one of these, either consistent pace at 140+ or if not pace then consistent good line and length. That is why he fails. Johsnon does not have accuracy, still his record in ODI in India is way better than our wicket taker Sreeshanth and our most consistent bowler Praveen Kumar. Because he relies on pace and his pace consistent, not up and down, and he mixes it up with variation of slower deliveries. First and foremost thing for Sreeshanth is to shut his mouth and work on his fitness and stamina. I saw how he struggled completing his runup after 2-3 overs. HE was good when he started in fitness but his fitness has gone down.

Untrue Firstly sreesanth has bulked up and is looking fitter and thats why he is bowling quicker than ever. Secondly Ishant and sreesanth are rhythm bowlers and they may not be fitter than guys you mentioned ,but when they get it right they are quick also they are FAST bowlers not Express. 130-145km/h Johnson is good bowler but he does sacrifice so much for pace his seam position is worst of most bowlers who have played international cricket I noticed he was tired also but the heat was on and he was palying after a month We just have to hope he gets his childish acts out of teh system then we have a guy who can serve indian cricket

The poor guy could loss all that if people advise him like they do now .... As I said on one of the threads that one of the reasons why India doesn't produce fast bowlers is that they don't get encouragement to go all out and are in fact punished for having an aggressive attitude and "go for wkts" thinking .... I guess what they are told is to bowl in the right areas even if it means cutting down on pace .... A fast bowler in Ind is suppose to strifle the batsman for runs and wait for the batsman to make a mistake and not go all out of wkts because if you do, you could leak runs, which is blasphemy :giggle: If you saw Sree's bowling in the final, you could see that he was focusing on bowling in the "right" areas and you could feel that it was not the same old Sree .... I hope Sree doesn't become another victim of 'good ER' mentality

Exactly ,In india we do not have a captain who knows how to handle fast bowlers ,Also we do not think pace or bounce can trouble opp batsman,For ex umesh yadav was not selected in sa and u19 guy was preffered as he can swing the ball,If you remember the INDO-PAK in Pak Series when GREG CHAPPEL was coach after the test series were we lost and our bowlers pace were criticized ,Then in odi series we got sreesanth,R.psingh they just bowled back of length and bouncers to pak batsman and we won the series on flat decks.Similarly When prasad was the coach WE bowled so many deliveries where the CROSS seam to get the ball to bounce on dead tracks which ishant benefitted but now we just bowl normal stuff no creativity form Bowling coach.

guess what yadav clocked 145+ a couple of times today looks a very good bowler
Looks like he could take few overs to settle down though...he was bowling too much on leg side..
