You made a claim about Raina being able to average 45 at number 3, based on what exactly? The experiment to have him bat up the order was a complete failure and exposed his limitations as a player, which most of us knew about anyways. The guy does not even average 45 in FC cricket on domestic pattas against trundlers, FFS! He is a good down the order hitter and should be made to stick to it rather than waste time and resources trying to become a complete batsman.

second highest run getter in NZ tests and averaged 48 in Asia cup and he needs to be dropped. Ugly or not if he scores, doesn't matter. One scratchy innings doesn't mean he should be dropped. Its T20, lot if batsmen look ugly in it.

If top order runs are so easy to get, why hasn't Raina been able to buy them when given a chance? Easy runs, LOL! Raina has found it challenging to put bat to ball in the top order, getting easy runs is quite a distance away.

Got to give it to some experts here . Dhawan , arguably the wort player of short ball & has done noting of note in his career inspite of having the luxury of batting in the easiest position in a batting linup , needs to be persisted with? watch him in England ? lol hows that going to tell you how he will perform in the WC in Aus ? While , Raina one of our bigger match winners inspite of never havig a settled position is unfit to play in side ? Why the bias ? he plays for CSK ?

Actually Dhawan already has a Test hundred outside Asia, I doubt Raina will achieve that in his career. Raina is a good slogger to have at 5 or 6 on flat roads in Asia in ODIs but otherwise is pretty rubbish really. As regards bias against him because he plays for CSK - lol! The guy got 17 Tests despite being patently inadequate for that level.

Spot on, When Rohit had a good run last year, Dhawan hit 5 or 6 centuries. Both home and away. Dhawan needs a guy who can rotate strike often. Rahane should be that guy.

dhawan is not a poor player or the "worst" of the short ball, he just chooses to play those stupid shots. he is capable of leaving or playing it horizontally. like i said, he needs to step out and attack it at the suitable height he is a gun player, maybe t20s not his format. need him in odis and tests anyway

probably champions trophy/tri series? he was mostly hitting 4s that hit the ground early then raced to the boundary. less risk. his issue is unneccesarily creating risks, like the tilted pull shot that got him out in todays match v pak

Most of Sehwag's innings used to have drop catches and his innings always used to have risks. You cannot play LOI cricket and score quickly without risk.
