King Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Not a bad replacement considering India will have single dimension attack with pretty much all the fast bowlers right handers. RP Singh can provide that left hand option and England have many left handers in their line up. Usually the left hand batsmen don't get enough balls on the stumps. When the right handers bowl, either there's a bit of width outside the off or the ball ends up drifting down the leg. Left hand fast bowling option agains the left handers is something that works quite well at all levels.

Blue Panther Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 RP has become a trundler nowadyas. Hardly bowls 130+. Varun would have been a great choice. This srikkanth *****u gets on my nerves by selecting vinay, his son and now RP.:mad::banghead::banghead:
Jayaram_IND Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Here is a look at R P Singhs Recent FC records Season Balls Mdns Runs Wkts BB Ave 5wI 10wM 2008-09 (India) 1139 32 647 16 3-49 40.43 0 0 2009-10 (India) 2207 85 1113 35 4-47 31.80 0 0 2010-11 (India) 1406 49 749 24 6-50 31.20 1 0 Looks decent considering Indian Condns But there are more consistent performers around.
cowboysfan Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Thank you for your service zak but India is ready to move on.
vvvslaxman Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 RP has become a trundler nowadyas. Hardly bowls 130+. Varun would have been a great choice. This srikkanth *****u gets on my nerves by selecting vinay' date=' his son and now RP.:mad::banghead::banghead:[/quote'] How exactly Varun would have been a "great choice" . RP has proven record in England, OZ, SA. What is Varun?
WC2011INDIA Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 How exactly Varun would have been a "great choice" . RP has proven record in England, OZ, SA. What is Varun? Varun is a homosapien.
vvvslaxman Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Thank you for your service zak but India is ready to move on. I can't forget his 11 over marathon spell in NZ . Poor guy . If only had had consistently decent support from other end would have served more. When he is on the field he always gives 100%.
Cricketics Posted August 7, 2011 Author Posted August 7, 2011 let me say - in before we hear the news that Zak hasn't recoved from his injury and is being replaced with another bowler for the odi series. I would rather have one of the following R.p Singh.. WOW... WOW.. as I predicted. So in only 1 day all of this happend. Glad it happend rite away instead of waiting for more matches.
rkt.india Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 @vvs he had decent support in the last 3-4 years in the form of ishant and sreeshanth. he has history with fitness. he has never been a fit bowler and was dropped beacause of being fat and lack of pace after pakistan tour in 2005-2006 i think.
rkt.india Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 He is always injured before or during ambig series like in 2003 aus tour, aus tour 2007, home series against kiwis last year, sa tour last year. Zak is not right role model for youngsters.
Jayaram_IND Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Dont think we would get a look in straight away.Maybe in the fourth test
