ShebbySB Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 He looked sharp & pacy in the 1st test & was bowling in the 138-142kph range consistently(145kph was his fastest) & with his extra bounce he can be lethal in Australia. So good signs before the Aussie tour.
Trichromatic Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 His avg speed in first inning was around 137 and 140 in second inning. But he needs to get his length right. He bowls short, but he needs to be full in Indian conditions.

Stuge Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 yesterday ,somebody in other thread wanted him to be dropped :giggle: coming back to the thread :both yadav and isshi needs to get their lengths right .
carnish Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 :giggle:ISHANT back to his best... IS dis thread a joke or what???
kubrickian Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Its not a question of bowling quick. He just doesnt seem to know how to bowl to different batsmen or how to set a batsman up. He seems like a bonehead who just runs in and bowls different length at different times and hopes for a wicket. He was clearly exposed in England and needs to learn a lot to be effective.

But but but he bowls quick and he has taken so many wickets, show me another young person with so many wickets :giggle: (sarcasm)
asterix Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Look at the way WI bowlers bowled..Ishant and Yadav should learn from them about bowling line, if not length. Lenght varies. Yadav atleast varies his length. Ishant doesn. He has remained the hit the deck bowler. But if he gives any width, the ball sits up to be smacked..
Number Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 He bowled well in this test. Was unlucky quite a few times , a plumb lbw not given and catch dropped. Will be key bowler in Australia with Zak(in case he is fit).
vishalvirsingh Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Ishant is our best pacer after Zak and there is no doubt over this..PK sree and the uselss Munna are way behind...Ishant will be deadly in OZ...Yadav"s analysis and performance was just as Similiar so in my view selectros have got it right this time our Best pacers are Zak Ishu Yadav Aaron WE shud try n play them

PK can be excellent support bowler in test. He can control flow of runs, making it easier for other two pacers to take wickets especially in overseas matches. Zaheer won't play many tests. I expect Ishant,Yadav/Aaron, PK as our future bowling attack when India starts touring outside subcontinent from 2013.
deathmonger Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Zaheer Ishant Yadav PK Aaron. PK can be excellent support bowler in test. Many people diss PK cause he's a trundler which should not be. He's a very good bowler who uses his abilities as best as he can.
rahulrulezz Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Ishant Sharma IMO is a pure cr@p bowler... for god sake, why the eff can't he bowl full deliveries.. In England in the most ideal conditions, this guy FAILED.. BADLYY!!.. This guy got chances in all 4 tests and didnt even provide us with a single match winning spell(forget a match).. I think we are wasting our time on him... how effing hard is it to ball fulll... all this guy can do is ball his fastest ball of 138, hitting the deck hard BUT short and wide.. I really have lost hope in him.. P.Kumar, V.Arun, UYadav, IPathan r way way better than him and can accompany ZKhan

It's like a chore for him. He comes across very unintelligent. Credit to the likes of PK and Sree, despite their limitations are always setting-up the batsman. And on Sree, he has produced more pivotal spells for India in Tests than Ishant, but only if....

Ishant was the worst of all. Ishant is a Broad type of bowler and well, look how good Broad did on these helpful pitches! Ishant was pathetic, just running in,so mediocre. Even in SA Ishant again, didn't utilise the conditions.

And on Sree, he has produced more pivotal spells for India in Tests than Ishant, but only if.... Well said. You hint at the most important quality of a test bowler, a thinking brain! Ishant doesn't have one. Sure Sree loses it but he has bowled unplayable balls and set up people in the past. Ishant never has. Pk was so good to watch in the test series, really enjoyed it. Everything had a purpose, don't care if he bowls late 70's if he keeps taking wickets. He deserves a run in the team. Ishant himself admitted in an interview that he doesn't know how some his deliveries straighten and it's luck. :hysterical: So he doesn't know how to bowl his famed delivery. What a joke. I have no doubt this guy will be scrapped from the team if he messes up in Australia.
vishalvirsingh Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Ther r some guys who have surprising Natural Talent and a physique which helps them Like kevin peterson ,Ishant... These guys have a great height and good physique...ishant is tall and athletic ...I agree he does not have a very inspiring brain but I feel he will bcom smarter...he won't be scrapped at all tiLl he retires as he will always get some Success....ishu out bowled yadav in this match and was trying to match yadav in speeds as well and got a PLUMB LBW which wasn't given so I feel he did fairly well he proved that he is the main fast bowler by outbowling the highly enthusiastiv yadav...Guys give him a break...Appreciate him of what he has done don't be critics always
cowboysfan Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Ishant is going to fail again if he is not kept out of the limited overs side,he should never play an ODI again.
