He was oft seen quibbling about how media does not ask the right question. Pray do tell what is the right question?? When Palin gets questioned it was "gotcha" question. When Caine gets questioned its "peronal" question. Although to be fair he is not alone in that, every Republican candidate has done it so far..except John Huntsman and Ron Paul.

First up he is a man of conviction and has consistently stood behind his values which is quite exemplary. His drawbacks though are as under: a) Does not have a widespread following. Has a set of core supporters that stick with him, but that set does not seem to grow. b) Is a Liberatarian at heart which by definition limits the rule of Government completely. While there can be a case to be made for market deciding in end what works and what does not, there are situations where Government has its own role to play (like in present economy). His almost complete dissolution of Government does not get him too many friends. c) His anti-foreign dominance theme is by itself reason enough to have US not vote for him. As great a nation as US is, an average American does see his as the best country in the world and one that leads the world. To tell them US is no different than say India or China, is something that does not go with any average American. d) His appearance does not score him woman votes as Clinton or Obama or even Romney does. e) Lastly his intellactual heft renders him support-less from the right-wing pagal brigade whose world resolve around gun-bible-limbaugh. xxx :two_thumbs_up: Well, America is destined for "Great" things then. I guess avg american is not that different from the conspiracy theory spouting pakis; both live in their own cocoons :cantstop:

Did anyone claim that *science* says an embryo has a god-given right to life? Even the religious right claims that it is their *religion*, their *God*, and *not science* that gives an embryo the right to life. Am not sure what your point is. What science says unequivocally is that an embryo is genetically a separate individual from any other individual - a new human entity characterized by a unique DNA fingerprint. As a biochemistry/molecular biology professor, and having studied embryology, I cannot deny this. Whether this living entity that is clearly human has the legal right of personhood is up to you to decide. Dr. Ron Paul, a Duke University MD and obstetrician who has served as the delivering doctor of 4000+ babies, feels that it does. Perfectly reasonable, even scientifically tenable position.

Sometimes he comes across as a a left wing Limbaugh. For example his stance on religion. He does not like religion, I get it...we all do. But no need to invoke it every single time. On many occassions somebody who belives in a certain religion shows up on his show and he will spend a lot of time tearing him apart. As a liberal myself I do not appreciate that stance of his. Just live and let live buddy. That being said I agree with him too often than not.

How on earth has he managed to run a successful state? texas is a wealthy state(texas has its own power grid!!!).Perry has done nothing to help teachers and health care(cant expect much from a republican though).I beleive any governor will have success in texas because it has tremondous highly skilled and highly educated population(which is growing a lot)who flock here because of low taxes and other reasons.
