Indian bowlers have no discipline

Stop blaming Dhoni for defensive field settings. Even with half the fielders on the ropes Indian bowlers still managed to give up 366/1 in one days play. Imagine how much Australia would have scored against a conventional field ? The basic problem is that Indian bowlers bowl too many bad balls. This lifts pressure off the batsman and they end up scoring freely off of the wide, legside, short or over-pitched deliveries. Not only will all these bad deliveries lift the scoring rate but they also effect the whole teams ability to take wickets. Opposing batsmen don't have to take risks against good balls. They can just keep blocking the threatening balls because they know that a bad ball and an easy scoring opportunity is right around the corner. This is an on going problem for India under Fletcher. In the last six away tests India has given up 340+ 5 times ! For a short term remedy I would suggest dropping Ishant and Ashwin for better line and length bowlers who can contain on side while Zaheer and Yadav attack from the other. Long term your bowlers need to get out of the IPL mindset and understand that the first rule of Test bowling is having a consistent line and length.

Tobe fair to the bowlers they show up at the beginning but throw in the towel once they see the batsmen's ineptitude. Bowlers bowled with great heart 1st test and what did they get in return from our batsmen - 3 collapses in a row and one of them on a batting beauty in Sydney. Don't blame Dhoni that much either coz when he had a decent field with fielders on the off, the bowlers, particularly Umesh & Ishant, bowling too straight or on the leg to gift easy 4s. Dhoni was left with no choice when the bowlers can't even do the basics right and are incapable of bowling consistent line & length on one side of the wkt.

They can't bowl 6 balls on same spot. 2 good balls followed up by 4 poor balls. Never really maintaining the pressure. While I was pissed off at Dhoni for being so defensive, but with bowlers not looking like getting wicket, all he can do is try and slow down the game as much as possible.

MCDermott seems to be doing a good job for OZ. worked a lot on the l&l of the bowlers, esp length Ind needs someone like that

on average a bowler will bowl 20 overs in a day in a test. of them 120 deliveries, 100 or so should be around the same spot which the bowler has worked out to be most effective for that pitch. the rest can be slower balls, cutters, short balls what ever else. but our bowlers somehow cant grasp this very simple concept and spray the damn ball all over the place.

Fast bowlers bowl in tandem. Not the same for the Indian bowlers Day 1 first session - Zaheer was excellent and the rest were rubbish yesterday- Ishant was good

agree...how difficult is to bowl 6 balls on the same length.
It needs methodical practice in the nets. Don't bowl to the batsmen, make a spot on the pitch and hit that spot consistently and do not reduce the pace. This will improve their accuracy.

agree' date='I've had enuff of Simmons.we need a better coach, preferably someone who has been good test bowler too[/quote'] Under venky ishant seam position has improved so much he had near perfect seam position also he taught him the slower ball ,But under simmons there is no improvement rather ishant seam position has worsened , 1-We are not using cross seam to hurry the batsman or variations. There is general lack of plan for each batsman -We are bowling short of length to ponting rather than using the bouncer which has height as many other teams have got him that way.

Yes dude. Indian bowlers have no discipline. They pick awful lot of wickets in India and suddenly they become trash. [[[sarcasm]]] I'm sorry dude. But you are not looking at the obvious here. A bowler is as good as his field.

What exactly has indian batsman done to support bowlers do you expect Indian bowlers to defend 191 on beauty of batting paradise with defensive fields and thakelay fielders running after ball , give me a break.
