Kohli gets another chance, more wait for Rohit Sharma

Team India is unlikely to change their batting composition for the third Test match against Australia in Perth which starts on Friday. There has been much speculation that India, who are trailing 2-0 in the four-match series, would call upon Rohit Sharma to sort out their middle-order problems but it now seems unlikely. This would mean that Virat Kohli, who has so far managed just 43 runs in his four innings down under, will get another chance to establish himself as a Test batsman denying Rohit Sharma a Test debut. A dismal batting display in the first two Test matches has meant that Team India's dream of winning a Test series in Australia has been wiped out. Talking about the bowling line-up however, skipper MS Dhoni said that the final decision depends on the track on the day of the match. "The Perth track, weather and conditions are different from Sydney and Melbourne. We have to see how much grass is there. Accordingly we will decide about bowling combination", said the Indian skipper. India's bowling coupled with some bizarre field placements has struggled to contain the Australian line-up which itself was under much scrutiny when the series began. http://sports.ndtv.com/cricket/news/item/183838-india-unlikely-to-change-batting-composition-for-3rd-test-vs-australia?pfrom=home-cricket

Well Kohli deserves to be given a few more chances before he can be discarded for a long time , its not like Rohit Sharma is going to put the world on fire in his debut test anyways .
Kohli has not shown any degree of improvement in the recent series. On what basis does he deserve a chance? It's not as if he has looked solid during his tenure and then got out. He has looked out of sorts so much so that the only time he looked confident was when he showed the middle finger.

Starting from the tour game Kohli has had a decent experience in Australia. Since he hasn't done anything in the tests and we are not dropping Laxman, Rohit should get a chance. But with Dhoni as captain I only see that once we go to Adelaide 3-0 down.

I dont know if it is a good thing for Kohli. It is like being given a longer rope to hang himself. Let us say if he plays in both Perth and Adelaide and he fails in both, then he will definitely be out of the reackoning for next 1 or 2 years.

lol , its a blessing in disguise for nohit not playing at perth , kohi will be more badly exposed, in the long run, this test will seal rohit`s name in the test team due to kohli`s bad performance

Don't know whether Rohit would agree, but there is a bit of truth in this.

Sharma should have been played instead....Kohli should have been 'rested'....they anyways have the reason to get around the term 'dropped' by saying he was punished for his gesture to the crowd or something like that.... If he fails again....it would be a disaster, might just break his confidence for the ODI's where he definetely is a big asset.
