vamos_rafa Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 :hatsoff: but I have to say his run out was well timed as well' date='we needed a big hitter that time ,so it was well planned :cantstop:[/quote'] Yes. I was chatting with my bro and he said that We need a big hitter now. And the very next ball, Gambhir got out. :--D
rkt.india Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 dilshan sangakara sachin sehwag kohli gambhir raina too many players played well no wonder ground was small and pitch was flat....Lets not forget his previous matches performance also.. It is a not a small ground due. As big as any you will see, especially bigger than any Indian ground, bigger than Gabba.
Straight Drive Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Although Kohli's knock was the difference maker Sachin, Sehwag, Gautam and Raina played well too. Even the Indian bowlers have done a good job on this wicket. Total team effort when it mattered.

Whichever team gets to the finals, would see their batters in much better mental state.
zen Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 India vs SL : 11th match : pre and post match review May be it is time to revisit Tauton :P Kohli :bhangra:
jusarrived Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I can only laugh at people who question Rainas spot in ODI team . Send him up the order , he will score big as well & you will see him being more consistent . Where he plays now is a difficult spot , either you have to come and slog when the team has already done well or you are under a lot of pressure with 3-4 wickets gone cheaply .

He' close to MS and hence he's in the team. Simple.
Sid Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Ashwin should play as an all rounder in place of Jadeja the great and Rahul can play as our specialist spinner. But obviously that is never going to happen.
Prakat Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Worst ODI Bowling Performance Hard to believe but Malinga's performance in today's match was the worst bowling performance by a bowler in an ODI. Iframe: Open in new window
J P K Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 then why he is there for so long ? they are hoping he recovers somehow we cannot send replacements it will be too late

ganeshran Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 It was Lady's mistake to keep bowling him. Any other bowler with such figures would have been taken out of the attack much before.
Clarke Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 :reddy: In the light of the oft-repeated threats of thrashing Aus when they visit us , reading those stats makes you realise that few fans are aware of the reality ......that Australia Dominates India in India in ODI's . Since 2000 australia have won 4 ODI series IN India while india has manged just 1 series victory at home us who :hmmm:
adi B Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 there is something common b/w fatwin, raina, jaddu, dhoni, oh i got my answer in post #3
adi B Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 He is India's best finisher. yeah, now he`s india`s best finisher, a couple of days ago he was the worst batsman in the team, how the mentality changes :orderorder: fact is he played well, but if there is bounce nd movement of the pitch, he is clueless, the aussie bowlers are more than heavyweights for him, he aint gonna play lanka again in this series
Ultimate_Game Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 India owns SL outside the subcontinent! Wonder what Sangakkara has to say now about putting "pressure" on India outside subcontinent and India are "fragile" away :haha: For Sanga the whinga and Lankans, India and SL record in non-subcontinental countries (Aus, SA, Eng and NZ) is 3-14 :hysterical: Yup, you guys have managed 3 wins and have been hammered 14 times. And one of those 3 wins for SL came in 1979 in ENg when India had yet to win even a single odi. In recent times I recall 3 series in non-subcontinental countries - Natwest series in Eng in 2002, CB Series in Aus in 2008 and this tri series and guess what! India managed to hammer Lankans evey time and have lost just 2 games in all those 3 series :hysterical: And if you add the WC 99 & 2003 WC mauling in Eng & SA respectively you know exactly where Lankans stand against India in non-subcontinental conditions :finger: By the way this has been one of the worst performing Indan team abroad and Lankans still only managed to win 1 out of 4 games :hysterical: Lankans may very well make it to the finals but they know India have always had their number :two_thumbs_up: Waiting for L@nd Pakee and DeadMan to provide some insight into how BCCI bought all those wins just like the WC final :cantstop:
Ultimate_Game Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 Raina is perfect for the role of a quick run scorer down the order. In earlier games we used to be 40/4 most of the time and Raina couldn't do much. But whenever we get a decent start and Raina has to score quick runs he seldom disappoints unlike Jaddu
amiret Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 that is true. The only place india has struggled against them is in SL . India has also won series in SL in 08 & 09 while SL has never won an ODI series agianst india in India
