Jaya takes another dig at India!

I don't get it... There's not much in that. It's just a cliché saying - their fate is in their own hands. It's a much better situation than sweating over the result of a game you have no control over.
Yaa but he didn't put it that politely. What he said was rather tongue-in-cheek or sarcastic. Smart-Ass that fella!:--D

Coz they didn't have to chase under lights everytime. Let's not forget that chasing under lights at Gabba was much tougher than batting 1st. If we had won those 2 tosses and batted 1st I can guarantees we would have won at least one of those matches if not both. We actually chased in all the 8 games under light and are still on the same points as SL. To me it shows how good we are coz if the situation were reversed and had we batted 1st everytime we probably would be leading the table now.
Agree. Toss certainly played its part, but still we could have easily worn that tied game and we were in the final right now and then could not chase 252 in Sydney which we should have done on that batting track with all those maharathies at top of the order with no rotation policy.

We had the toughest of all the teams and we were still able to match them, Lankans at least. I dare say had Lanka had lost all the tosses they would have been out of the tourney long time back.

Come on. Let's not be that picky. The dude isn't that annoying to hear as his team mate Sanga is. I don't think Jayawardene ever meant to talk that stuff about India. Currenlty, he would be very focused on defeating Australia, and at the same time would be in in awe of India's ability to turn the points table in their favor.

Srilanka did chase successfully twice in the series under lights. Also we had a chance to Bat 1st on two occasions ,but we decided otherwise . Anyway ,our performance in the recent past is known to everyone .SO ,debating on it doesn't make any sense.

Dig or no dig, Lady Jaya he clearly conveyed that Sri Lanka lost more to great batting than poor bowling. On the other hand Sanga would have said outright sh*t bowling cost them the game. And anyways it's makes great headlines for media websites and newpapers in terms of trolling the biggest audience (the indian public). Isn't that what sensationalism journalism based on.

Going in to the last game it's in our control, what we need to do
Any different from other games ? I thought everyone went on the field trying to win the game.

First time it was a rain shortened game and the 2nd time round we had no choice coz of bonus point. In other games especially Gabba batting 1st was a huge advatnage and we didn't get that.

I don't see anything wrong with what he said....If any he is showing good leadership qualities by motivating his team by saying that their destiny is in their hands... Let us not make a mountain out of a molehill

:cantstop: I hate the Lankans' trash talking as much as anyone but can't see what the issue with this is, it is true that they have their progression to the finals in their hands

Lol what absolute rubbish this thread is, all Mahela said was that they are happy to be in a position where they dictate their own future, what the hell is wrong with that? :hysterical: Boo hoo India, how will you survive this vicious onslaught!!?? :hysterical:

SL are just unbelievable, so full of **** cos they know they will be losing on Friday and have to go home Jaya comes up with excuses already... ""Going in to the last game it's in our control, what we need to do," Jayawardene said. "It's a good position for us to be, rather than depending on someone else to do some favours for us.
No wonder he is still sour after the kind of pounding our batters game them in the last game. :giggle:
