vvvslaxman Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Most of the subcontinent players do well. Younis Khan probably is the best i have seen against Kumble. Aravinda, Jayasuriya, to name a fewmore. Among those who are outside subcontinent Lara, Mark Waugh, Kallis, ABDV, H Cronje. I agree ENglish is the worst against spin.. they have been for ages.
Zelig Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Most of the ISC batsmen. Clarke is the best active non-ISC batsman, followed by ABDV, M. Hussey and Chanderpaul.
Yoda-esque Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Daryl Cullinan - one of the worst against spin Best - Sehwag
Trichromatic Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Sehwag is best player of spin I have ever seen. He is probably most dominating player of spin bowling ever. It won't be too much to say that he is miles ahead when it comes to destroying the spinners. Players like Lara, Sachin, Dravid might have better technique. Sehwag takes lot of risks against spinners, but most of the time it is calculated risk rather than blind slogging. His 155 against Australia. All Indian batsmen were struggling and this was Warne's best series in India. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsG-yDnJVak]Virender Sehwag 155 vs Australia 2nd test 2004 - YouTube[/ame] It was spinner friendly track and if I'm not wrong Kumble took 7 wickets in first inning. Number Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Damien Martin - underrated player of spin. Overall a very elegant batsman to watch.
Trichromatic Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Damien Martin - underrated player of spin. Overall a very elegant batsman to watch. Underrated? He, Lehman and Hayden were best player of spin bowling in the great Aussie side.
mhr123 Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Best how can anyone miss VVS and Sidhu Paa ji ... both these were the 1st to murder Shane... Others : excluding above mentioned : Border , Mark W , Gooch , Gatting , Shiv C , Viv .

Utalk Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Best: Salim Malik, Dean Jones, Sidhu,Younis Khan and Lara. Worst: Daryl Culinan. Ian Bell and Abdul Razzaq.
Trichromatic Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Sehwag has struggled a bit against murali' date='but lara dominated every spinner he played.[/quote'] Kumble?
velu Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 sehwag for me .. iinr he is the one who started screwing mendis :hysterical::hysterical: afridi is also a very good attacking player of spin :winky:
GautiMaan Posted March 28, 2012 Author Posted March 28, 2012 Kumble? Yes,the one spinner who triumphed over Lara.
vvvslaxman Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Gambhir is also a good player against spin. But little over confident though.
Number Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Underrated? He' date=' Lehman and Hayden were best player of spin bowling in the great Aussie side.[/quote'] I feel he is a bit underrated. Don't get mentioned as much as Hayden ,Clarke and M Waugh.
GautiMaan Posted March 28, 2012 Author Posted March 28, 2012 Best: Salim Malik, Dean Jones, Sidhu,Younis Khan and Lara. Worst: Daryl Culinan. Ian Bell and Abdul Razzaq. Malik?Never heard of him.Isnt he the first fixer or something?
maniac Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 I would say Sidhu is probably the best player of spin I have ever seen. Jimmy Adams came up with his own wweird technique to be succesful on some dustbowls which was not pretty but effective worst Daryl Cullinan based on his reputation as warne's bunny but I thought he was decent whenever he toured India I think....could be wrong, need to look at Stats Guru.I mean we can apply the same to KP given his struggle against left-armers but he did play Warne really well.
Number Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Gambhir is also a good player against spin. But little over confident though. He has done well against spinners so far. Though I feel he'll struggle against those who can test him on front-foot as his stride-forward is not big , will usually go out of the crease to play them.
