Vilander Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 amazed at the the amount of love OP has for people from Tamil Nadu.
The Outsider Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Sehwag in last 2 years- 16 tests, 29 innings, 889 runs@30 And all we hear is he is one knock away from coming back to form! He scored a hundred 2 matches back which was crucial in winning the test. Has got starts in almost all tests this season at home. Yeah, he is a problem but by no means the biggest one.
Sooda Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 What's going to happen by moving him down the order ? He is not a grafter or someone who can play a long innings by taking singles. Batsmen down the order in Indian conditions need to do that because the ball becomes old by the time they come in to bat, pitch gets slower and the ball doesnt come on to the bat. Sehwag likes to score boundaries and it wont be easy scoring runs. You also need someone with a cool head who can stay at the wicket at No.6 because one more wicket will expose the tail. I dont think Sehwag has the patience or temperament to do that. He has the experience to adapt to that kind of role. Not at 6 which is too low with no batting to support him but by batting at 5 he does not face the new ball away from home especially, his hand eye coord not being what it was...it would be nice to have his experience in the middle order too if/when SRT retires

Rohit S. Ambani Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Unlucky = Misfortune which occurs beyond one's control, without regard to one's will, intention, or desired result. UDRS is available to all cricketing nations, you should question BCCI's stand!
amiret Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Sehwag does not deserve a place in the side . He is averaging less than 27 against SA, Aus & Eng in the last 2 years (15 Test matches) . just 1 100 against them in this time period
The Dark Horse Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 ^It's beyond his control anyway :dontknow:
Clarke Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 What's going to happen by moving him down the order ? He is not a grafter or someone who can play a long innings by taking singles. I dont think Sehwag has the patience or temperament to do that. Patience, temprament blah blah is what we used to expect from openers more than anyone else. Sehwag & Hayden changed the rules. I would think its maybe worth a try, when the entire batting lineup seems to have gone to the dogs.
superstar Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Innings defeat would do nicely. Unlikely. They are not going to bat last. Jaddu and Ashwin show class tomorrow. Not before a captains innings. How many captains would have promoted themselves :hatsoff:
Rohit S. Ambani Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 I think Indian team is cursed by our ICF member 'CSK Fanatic', that guy was lunatic, Murali Vijay and Badri's biggest fan ever.
jairamesh Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 It's gutting, our only one decent bat and his handicapped by Gambhir and umpire. :giggle: But again, DRS would have solved one of those unlucky moments. So now Sachin causing two problems, can't score runs himself and denying others to challenge poor umpiring decisions. :giggle:
Gunner Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 The way he got out was lolworthy - playing inside the line of an inswinger. He seriously needs to go down the order, maybe no. 4 after Tendulkar retires.
Sandeep99 Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 true! But the OP is missing the eternal curse of Sir Vinay Kumar! How dare the selectors to remove him after a one off 'Warner slog sweep' Perth!!!
Number Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Comes too much on the front foot against spinners. Can play ball a bit more on back foot.
Pagalpanti Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 The test series loss has truly affected some fans.
jairamesh Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Unlikely. They are not going to bat last. Jaddu and Ashwin show class tomorrow. Not before a captains innings. How many captains would have promoted themselves :hatsoff: Dhoni came in as nightwatchman. To protect a triple centurion and Ashwin.
Sachin=GOD Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Dhoni came in as nightwatchman. :giggle:
Laaloo Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 It's gutting, our only one decent bat and his handicapped by Gambhir and umpire. :giggle: But again, DRS would have solved one of those unlucky moments. So now Sachin causing two problems, can't score runs himself and denying others to challenge poor umpiring decisions. :giggle: Sachin and Dhoni changed their stance over a year ago. Its the BCCI still hell bent on not using the DRS
Rohit S. Ambani Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 England has mentally disintegrated India. 2 Tour's, one home, one away. 6-1 so far and we have so many casualties! :((
