Yes he is not a test captain by any stretch. Viru is dumber. We are yet to see Gauti there. But winning an IPL trophy should not give any influence to put Gauti there. Dhoni has been the most successful captain in India's cricketing history, he's won everything as a captain No.1 test ranking WC Winner World 20/20 winner plus he's also won the IPL with Chennai His ability to lead is not in question but whether he still has the same motivation to lead can be in question and from the evidence from our last few series I think its time we start looking for a backup Gambhir is a viable candidate someone we need to test soon before its too late, a long term candidate maybe Kohli

It is not like that. We rarely have a vice captain becoming captain. There is no real practice in India to make a VC the captain. Even Dhoni was a random captain while Sehwag used to be VC. Kohli is made captain to groom for next 2-3 years. Gambhir has already been a vice captain and captain and if Dhoni gives it up, it will be Gambhir who will be made an interim captain before Kohli can take over.

We cant take the risk of bringing another non performong captain in tests. ATM there is not much to choose from. Noone has the skills to play in tests away from home. Kohli is there but hes not too experienced. We dont have a single player who we can say with confidence that he'll be in the team irrespective of the conditions for the next 2 years.

Its just a gut feeling from the way he handles himself. He has the energy but not the needless OTT aggression that Kohli or gambhir show. But ya, till he improves his game, shouldnt even be let anywhere near the test team.

IPL success shouldn't be an influlencing factor. But MSD has to go as test captain and we don't have any choice other than Gambhir.

I hope for the better of Indian cricket, Dhoni is replaced as a test captain, Gautum as first choice, Viru as second, Viru has admitted his mistake and also he supports his bowlers and improved his consistency with the bat, Ganguly is just stating the fact, I hope BCCI wakes up.

Sehwag improved his consistency with the bat? failed when it mattered the most and lost his form completely in the last 6-7 matches. Sehwag should never be leading any side in any format. Had the same DD side been led by Mahela or even Taylor, they would have won the trophy.

If the DD side was not led at all, they would still have reached the finals - secret weapon Negi ahead of Taylor/Pathan and dropping Morkel were difficult to achieve even for a badly programmed computer software.

IMO Dhoni has to continue. He has let us down last year but there is not much a captain can do with a team like this. Gambhir as an opener has not even made enough runs to guarantee a place in the test side. Now after winning an IPL, he is a potential captain, wow. Last 12 months: Gambhir test average = 25.15 Dhoni test average = 27.80

Dont mention Delhi debacle how can you drop Morkel FFS Last and this year we will be a team in transition We need to find a new core for our test team Dravid, Laxman are gone or retiring Find a spinner to replace Harbhajan And find a new striker force in our bowling department

FOR TEST MATCHES Sehwag Gambhir Tendulkar Kohli Laxman Raina/Rohit Dhoni Ojha/Ashwin/Jadeja Zaheer Yadav Aaron/Ishant or any bowler you can think of Sehwag Gamnhir if injury free will be a fixture for the next 2-3 yrs at least Sachin is also going to be around hopefully until the youngsters are ready to take over Kohli is a definite fixture Laxman retirment is possible and soon so we need to find a player to take his spot Then both Raina and Rohit have to prove that they have the mental toughness to be regular in test matches Dhoni will be around for a while Ojha/Ashwin/Jadeja are 3 spinner that are in the frame for a spot in the Test team, for me Ojha is the best fit for test. Ashwin/Jadeja are better in ODI and 20/20 Zaheer if he can avoid injuries will have to play due to a lack of quality bowlers Umesh Yadav is the one bowler Indian pace attack can now rely on Ishant/Aaron/Dinda/Awana/Ahmed unless one of these bowler stand out or can stay injury free I think their will be a rotation in this spot until they find the right player
