Crookbond Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 It looks like ICF'ers should write cricket articles now instead of sitting on their behind and typing 1-line condescending statements.
MCcricket Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Umesh' date='Ishant,Aaron,Shami & Awana are my picks too but we need a good left arm quick.Maybe Suyal or Anwar Ahmed will be the answer.[/quote'] I cannot decipher logically how RP, UNADKAT, VK, PK , can be playing in test's,odi's while players like Shami, Anwar, Suyal, Gony, are not even looked at or playing india A, WHY ARE PLAYERS LIKE TYAGI, NECHIM,PANKAJ SINGH, VRV not in the picture at all. Umesh, Ishant, Aaron, Shami for me are the future, Shami, Umesh have a bowling style where they will get more wickets, Ishant, Aaron can rattle the batsmen, Tyagi, VRV, Gony are fairly experienced and have the pace, talent to succeed, after injury no one is helping them finding their feet back. Anwar Ahmed, Pawan Suyal, Abu Nechim are the dark horses, I am surprised that no one who matters has even spoken about Anwar yet. Awana, Abu Nechim, can be useful in ODI'S, both can bowl in 90's and can seam , swing the ball, bowl yorkers, tight line.

Unadkat and RP (recent) are a mystery to me. Vinay has been consistently good in the domestic circuit and has played well in ODI cricket so far. He's not done tremendously, but he has consistently outperformed his peers. Praveen's ODI career has fallen away recently but you surely are not one of the fools who doubts that he was the best bowler for us in the England Test series. He was! Tyagi is not in the picture because injuries mean he has not been able to prove his fitness and form. VRV hadn't played for two years until recently! Nechim has just not performed consistently well enough to earn an international cap yet. I am surprised that no one who matters has even spoken about Anwar yet. Awana, Abu Nechim, can be useful in ODI'S, both can bowl in 90's and can seam , swing the ball, bowl yorkers, tight line. If Nechim could do that, he'd have more than 14 OD wickets to his name - especially against Indian batsmen who are notoriously weak against pace. Anwar is 25 and only last year just broke into domestic cricket - give him some time to prove himself. You are too keen to rate people that have not proved themselves (fitness and performance) domestically.
adhishwar Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 When India have someone like TA Sekar, they should make use of him. Get him to coach the upcoming fast bowlers, and soon India will seem to be playing with too many fast bowlers. Like in 2007, RP Singh, Sreesanth, Irfan Pathan, Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel were all just out of his coaching and made it to the team. Suddenly it all looks bare again. He again brought out, Umesh Yadav and Varun Aaron. He should be asked to monitor the bowlers, then the injuries would reduce and the bowlers will be better

My point is why keep on recycling the tried and tested failures, I have seen a bit of Nechim, Anwar and they have more class any day compared to VK, Unadkat, unfit RP who are mediocre to say the least, and no hoppers.Atleast in the process of trying out talented rookies we can find couple of decent bowlers as the circumstances are dire as far as indian bowling:((.
Sachinism Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Anyone heard of Himanshu Rakheja? Looking through his facebook, looks like he's worked with Ian Pont Patrishan claiming he's hitting 135-140

ShebbySB Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Has he played any FC matches yet?If not then there is no need of any kind of fuss abt him.
munafbhai Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Talent exists. Maybe not extraordinary taelnt like aus pacers but we have decent pacers who if taken care of properly and trained correctly can be decent test bowlers to pick wickets on regular basis. But BCCI dunno what it is doing. I am sure they can shortlist 5-8 good bowlers and train them using knowledge of TA Sekhar, Mcrath, Pollock , Jason Gillespie or maybe even Bichel. Most of Indian bowlers can bowl as fast as Bichel did in 2003 to 2007 ...now only if the swing and variations were as controlled as Bichel...we would have a bowling attack not to be ashamed about as we now
MCcricket Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 So many incidents of players like Finn, Tremlett, Lee, Cummins,Starc, Hilfy , also recently saw Michael Johnson loosing form and pace and looking very bad to coming back fitter and faster and better then before in case of Hilfy, Johnson, Siddle very recently, excellent coaching, training, recuperation and nursing of these bowlers to better then before and in India it only goes one way for all bowlers , that says a lot about BCCI and their knowledge and non existent infrastructure and understanding of fast bowlers from selection, grooming , injury management and improvement.
GautiMaan Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 I think i saw Munaf hit 140K in Champions league:nervous:
Old guy Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 I think i saw Munaf hit 140K in Champions league:nervous: and gautam gambhir didnt dab in his inning :giggle:
rkt.india Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 I think i saw Munaf hit 140K in Champions league:nervous: Munaf can hit 140 easily if he tries but he dies. He is lazy, does not put enough efforts. He is contempt with what he is doing.
MCcricket Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 I saw Munaf bowl well in that game his fastest was a yorker at 141 k, he bowled well, he along with Sreesanth have been India's biggest loss and theirs too as what they could have been, Munaf's runup and follow thru is very poor, he does not put any back into his action, he has good arm speed, if only he runs with a bit more purpose, jumps a bit and holds his action for a split second while his left arm is lower and then uses his left arm to uncoil he can get alot more pace with same effort, more bounce, seam, swing. I just saw Johnson bowling and he looks very good, has worked on his action, is more front on, while he jumps now he holds his action and front arm a bit lower and longer and then lets it rip and that gives him more pace and also accuracy as his arm is straight and body and back are more aligned because earlier he was more side on and that caused his arm to be a bit more slingy and looked ragged as his action looked in between front and side on.
MCcricket Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 I have seen PK earlier and he too have chinks in his action and not rotating his bowling arm fully and thus using more elbow and loosing pace, he needs to work on his run up as there is no purpose or gain in momentum, also needs to get a bit side on, hold his left arm a bit more like Gough and he can get more pace, bounce, avoid elbow injury and gain control and seam, swing better.
MCcricket Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Pankaj Singh is a big man about 6 5" to 6 6", needs to have a better runup with his body a bit more curled up, needs to work a bit more on his load up, pivot a bit more, as a result he will complete his action better, get more pace and also need to lock his left leg as right now his leg is not locking in place and he is loosing pace and bounce, this guy in the hands of any good side could by now be bowling 140 and with his height would be a very good customer, as he can also move the ball.
MCcricket Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Abhimanyu Mithun bowled around 140's when he made debut, he was more side on and had a better load up and body alignment and follow through, now scared of injury he tries to be front on but his tendency is to bowl side on so he is neither and has the same issue as Johnson did earlier and worse as his body is not aligned at all and his arm has to come around rather then down with the body, high risk for injury and looses pace, bounce and movement. This kid has been bowling like this for three seasons now and no one seems to have worked with him to correct basic things, Yo Mahesh, Unadkat less said the better.
