I believe so. Now, his position cannot be justified. Although purely on a gut level, I would back this guy and make him come at No. 4 next game. In his defence he has got some great deliveries this series early in his innings. I just have the feeling that if he clicks he will be an all time great. It is tough to back him at this stage. he has the full range of shots. not many batsmen out there are as 'complete'. strong first class record as well, so the reputation is deserved. and i would rather trust the opinion of cricketers that watch him every day than the fickle **** chucking indian public. he just has no idea on how to build an innings and rotate strike, and he has no confidence. i think its a more of a mental thing with him. i was amazed to know that he averages 47 at number 5. maybe thats where he should always play?

Played all his games vs WI at 5 which explains the high average. Poor record at 5 against most other teams.

Hopefully India win the 4th ODI and the series, and then play some of the bench warmers in the 5th game. Move Rohit up to 3 or even as an opener, bring in Rahane and Tiwary. Give Gambhir and Kohli a break.

I so want Rohit to succeed because Rohit, Raina and Kohli can be and should be our next generation of superstars but talent alone is never enough at the highest level, a player has to be mentally strong as well hopefully Rohit will fulfill his talent in the future he's still only 25
