The 29-year-old boxer stormed into the semifinals of London Olympics as she routed her Tunisian opponent Maroua Rahali 15-6 in the quarterfinal match of 51kg boxing category. Mary was on the defensive side in the first two rounds which she won 2-1, 3-2 respectively. In the third round, the crowd got to see the better of Mary Kom as she thumped back-to-back punches at her opponent who was taken by surprise. With this victory, India are now confirmed of another bronze medal but the way Mary has been performing in her first Olympics, she can definitely produce better results. Mary Kom will now lock horns with Nicola Adams of Great Britain in the semi-final. In her debut match, Mary convincinglydefeated Karolina Michalczuk of Poland to cruise into the quarterfinal of the 51kg category with ease. :yay::yay::yay: Most medals by india in any olympics

Mary Kom on Nikola Adams

“She is OK, quite good. She is quite defensive, she has a fast jab. Europeans are not so clever as Asians. I think I will beat her.” She points to her head with a playful gleam. “I have her in my mind now.”
