The question to be asked - Is our FC cricket good enough to test their skills? In 11 games, Chand has 1x100's and 4x50's. He's in the FC side since 2010. He scored 151 against Mumbai on a seaming track in 2010-11 and 400 runs in 5 matches. How is playing FC helping him? He should be on every god damn 'A' tour out there - he is already, which is good & performance on 'A' tours will help him reach the international level. Chand is a teen age prodigy and a different method of action will only benefit him and the team.
You're going on raising the bars.. I have my qualifications about the FC system, but at the moment, given the limitations, I think it is pretty good... Even Azhar Mahmood made 2 hundreds in a series in SA, let's give him some time to settle... Int cricket is a long and hard grind.. let us check whether he has got the ability to stay focussed.. and FC system is an excellent system to test that.

Still doesn't mean that he has gone nuts and he is bitten with envy that India gave Aussies a hiding. Unnecessary criticism for actually rating an Indian player.

Why should he then be getting jittery for having these two chaps play the entire WC then? What's the alternative? Drafting them into the test XI? LMAO Get some perspective... a WC win under their belts, is going to better their confidence than a stint at some NCA or even a bench spot in the ODI or T20 XI... They are now proven and equipped to deal with pressure... they got some priceless exposure on hard bouncy pitches against the best of their peers... this will be invalluable in taking the next step...

That rules out half the CSK and TN contingent representing India including your lover boy's son. Ooops! Not to mention the nomination of kaptaan for a specialist batsman and Jadeja as all rounder!

Yeah how pathetic Ashwin has been hm? Oh wait.. he's got 40 wickets from 7 matches @ 28!! so who else from the TN contingent is having a free ride in the XI?

There are no hard and fast rules when to pick someone. It depends on openings that we have, depends on speciial talents they are blessed with. Bhajji at 17, Yuvi at 18, Irfan at 19, Sachin at 16. Parthiv at 17, Karthik at 19 , Ganguly at 19 all were fast tracked. Some of them did well right away. Some started doing well in their come back. Some were inconsistent. My personal opinion Aprajith and Harmeet both definitely are much closer to national call than others.

The first impression on reading the article is that Chappell is impressed by these youngsters. Forget where he ranks Harmeet, but the spinner is very good and should be considered at a higher level ... I will also add Aparajith to the list.

Aparajith, not yet. We already have Ashwin, both similar. Aparajith lacks that x-factor which Unmukt and harmeet have. IMO, parthiv and karthick were not that good u19 level.

Good temperament, takes on short balls, plays mostly carpet drives, Steady offie to boot with. He has some distance to go. When he does he will provide incredible balance to the side.

I will be tempted to play Unmukt late next year if rohit or tiwary or any other batsman dont cement their place at 4 which is a headache right now.

what about Sandeep Sharma. I am pretty impressive with his ability to move both ways with reasonable accuracy. I think he can be handy for India.
He is PK part 2 right now, need to add more pace. He is a swing bowler, not seam.
