Even in the cup he won for us he was battered by fricking tussera and lady jaya all over the park , if not this guy's useless death bowling they would have never reached 240 in that finals. Even in semis he was the most expensive bowler. He got wickets that was good thing but he hardly bowled with control in death overs there also. If he does not/cannot get any wickets with new ball then he should not be in the team.
True. Zaheer picked some crucial wickets here and there. It is not like he was a bowler opposition was scared of. They didn't try to play him out.
The opposition while batting on our Indian wickets is supposed to be wary & watch out for a bowler, like that ever happened  Leading wicket taker with <19 avg & people here are keen on dragging him down :wall: ODIs in subcontinent, you're bound to have some bad days. This kind of negativity for our standout bowler of the victorious campaign is just pathetic. The guy bowls in the toughest phases in 2011: Hard new ball in subcontinent, powerplays and finally in the death overs. Give him some breathing space FFS.

I think time is running out for him.....They guy's fitness and commitment levels are pathetic.....So he does not have too many excuses for failures or free-rides anymore

Clarke made a good point earlier. We should stick to him because he has 'potential' unlike others.
we will stick to him,but problem is he is not going to improve he is on his last legs .

May or may not improve. But' date=' I fail to see a better option currently.[/quote'] Its not that. We need to look at the future as well. While everyone is moaning why Tendu is not retiring (same as Dravid/Lax) and not giving youngsters a chance, I don't see whats the harm in giving the other bowlers to play at the big stage (and yes T20WC is a big stage as compared to IPL). They can't go worse than what Zak has been for the last 10-12 ODIS/T20. If not dropped, atleast give him rest for a few matches every now and then and see how we perform without him.

Keep ZK out of LOI and T20s (and IPL). Only Test matches.
What is it about other people making a lot of money that seems to annoy you so much?

It transpires that Afghanistan’s attack on Zaheer wasn’t accidental. Kabir Khan, the coach, revealed that of all the Indian bowlers, they had picked R Ashwin as the biggest threat. “The way we planned it was, we knew India were going to be one bowler short because they were playing with only four bowlers,” said Kabir, a former Pakistan fast bowler. ''We were looking at playing Ashwin a bit defensively and not give him many wickets. He was the only bowler who was going to create problems for us because the wicket was not helping the pacers.''

Zaheer the bowling Sachin - Dhoni

Zaheer Khan has been hailed as the Sachin Tendulkar of Indian bowling as their captain, MS Dhoni, seeks to rouse the confidence of his leading strike bowler in India's final Group A match against England at R Premadasa Stadium on Sunday. If Zaheer is to mark his 34th birthday by playing in the final of World Twenty20, both he and India will need to discover better form. "It is easier to go after a bowler," Dhoni said after a practice session at P Sara Stadium. "If you look at his performances he should get equal respect that Sachin gets. He is the Sachin for us when it comes to the bowling department. "He has led out attack for the last few years; he has been our best bowler whatever the format. Maybe in the last few games he has not got the wickets whether it be Test cricket, ODIs or T20 formats." Zaheer's three overs cost 32 in an uncomfortable India win against Afghanistan and you have to go back to the Sydney Test against Australia in January to discover a match in which he has taken more than two wickets. That was 19 matches ago, in all competitions.
