I hope many more get inspired and start going to school. Pakistan is so far behind in education. They only have 156k primary schools and just 40k middle schools. Can you believe it? Just 40. Off 7 crore kids between 5 - 18 only 4 crores are in the schools. That means nearly 3-4 crores kids between 5-18 have education less than grade 5. Total highschools and colleges are far less, something like 2400. With these numbers, if such a brave girl is becomming inspiration for girls, god knows what people/government of this country are doing. I just wonder how these guys talk about competing with other asian nations with such poor education. They only spend 3% on their education something like $4b that includes higher education budget as well, 95% of it goes to salaries. Imagine what would they be spending on education research etc. Go figure.

There was a "Love the Prophet Mohammad (SAW) day" not so long ago and thousands thronged the streets and some expressed their love for the Prophet by attacking policemen and pedestrians. How many thousands have protested against the TTP? The TTP and their ilk have misused and maligned the name of the Prophet much more than any 2 bit movie maker or cartoon ever can. What do the goons in the Raza Academy have to say about this? :hmmm: I can only pray for the safety of this brave child. God bless her.

The media are targeting the root of the issue. Targeting solution 1 for scenario 1 is playing in the hands of people generating the scenario 1. I deeply regret each and every life which is lost - due to drone attacks, due to illness, due to weird laws, due to terrorists or due to unfortunate circumstances. But, speaking for solution 1 does not require guts - its a low hanging fruit that every TDH continues to take and will take in the future as well. The real guts are required to speak AND act against for scenario 1.

After the Stanford/NYU report came out, i am with you. The program in theory is supported by your govt as well and needs to be modified from its current form so that civilian casualties are minimized if not eliminated.

What is solution.2 is another debate but whole world need to understand that solution1 is never going to work bcz its going on since 7 years and so far proved rather counterproductive so starting point of solution2 is stop blind and brutal drone attacks because those terrorists 'suspected' hideouts may or may not contain terrorists but always definitely contain families, innocent women and children...

Just today there have been protests in Karachi, a fatwa has been issued against TTP by 50 prominent Sunni ulema.

Not surprised cz not ur fault for having such perception though u chose bad time for this kind of 'bashing' post... i. Protests were held but the only difference: they were peaceful (no killings, no business and vehicles been burnt down) this time so no masala found there for your news channels hence no coverage. ii. Though Everyone of us obviously already praying but tomorrow, Friday, will b observed specially as 'prayers day' for health, recovery and life of Malala. iii. Just today there have been protests in Karachi, a fatwa has been issued against TTP by 50 prominent Sunni ulema.
