Failures in ODIs frustrating - Rohit Sharma

n then called back in Asia Cup wen Jaddu was dropped without doing anything in CB series
Exactly.... thanks for doing my homework but as i look back at India's ODI games this year, there seems to have been no sense of accountability at all and that is very blatant in the case of nohit (13 games, 164 runs @ 13.66 for a middle-order batter with almost 10 games played in the sub-continent???)..... the 2 games that nohit and tiwary played together in SL, tiwary outperformed him easily on both ocassions. Tiwary could have easily played more than 2 odi's in SL (nohit played all 5) and the same goes for the asia cup

Jaddu played in the Asia cup. Rohit was bad in the CB series half the games till he was dropped, but by that time everyone was bad(Sehwag, Sachin, Raina and Kohli too) except Dhoni and Gambhir. Not a bad decision to pick him back when you consider that he scored good 50 in the game he got a chance to bat in the Asia cup.
everyone was bad but still Tiwary wasnt tried?his last innings before CB series was a ton. in hindsight it wasnt a bad decision, but clearly Tiwary deserved to be picked up.Rohit flopped in that dreaded game against BD too IIRC

Yes, that was bad on Tiwary but if you see Dhoni was backing the team to come good, Raina was very poor in the previous ODI series against WI in India too.

He came in 47th over and was run out so can't say that he failed. Asia cup first 2 games, our top 3 batted for 40 overs or so. The way he was playing since world cup, he deserved some rope so it was not bad to call him back when he was axed to accommodate seniors in the last series.

He deserved the games he got in CB series.not in Asia Cup.its irrelevant comparing him with Sachin,Sehwag etc. as they had proven records behind them, not Rohit

Rahul Dravid was even more unfit for ODIs when he started. He managed to make the adjustment albeit he became a successful test player. I don't think it is the format that hampers him. Even worst of the worst players would have shown some progress. Missing straight balls at alarming rate is not because he is using a different brain and skill for ODIs. Lack of concentration, lack of judgement, lack of temperament.. whatever it is.. it is a problem he needs to address and show progress.

Something amiss when I bat in ODIs: Rohit

"I have realised that something is missing when I am playing ODIs, but I don’t know what. I am trying to figure out what is this missing link. :wall: I've really not thought about it. I go with the same approach in all formats. There are aspects to my batting that don’t necessarily have to change just because I’m playing a different format."

Feel sorry for the guy but seriously open the innings? That just means Rahane has got to miss out a lot more of matches because of this lad
He has opened the innings for India before that is what he was saying.

Where he also means that he should be allowed to open the innings again. Pretty much asking for more shots.
