Because of Pujara and Jaddu, he did not get to play many matches before and they also have a quota selection in Jaydev Shah who is an average batsman and also a captain. Sitanshu Kotak was not an opener before. When Kotak opened this season, he entered in the middle order. They had different openers in Chirag Pathak and BM Chauhan who when did not perform dropped and they opened with Jogiyani and Kotak, so this made place for the other guys who ere not getting chances likes of Jackson.

Look at Shah's technique how his left leg goes out to leg side. He just rode his luck yesterday and umpire's LBW reprieve early on his innings on a Kaul yorker.
