Lord Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 meanwhile in other game,Sir Aggy has scored a fantastic ton:congrats: bring him back:protest:
rkt.india Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Unadkat extracting a lot of life and bounce from the pitch. Unadkat is a tall guy and hits the deck hard, used his wrist well for that. He is only 20-21 and will certainly increase his pace by 24-25. He needs to go to gym too.

Been around for a while now. Should be in India contention only if he increases his speed by 5 to 10 K while maintaining and even gaining some more swing.

Cevno Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Jiwanjot dropped. With his height he needs to be more decisive in his footwork or is gonna struggle.

saneindian Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Jiwanjot's playing style is similar to the English batsman James Taylor. Similar back and across movement. The similarity is also enhanced due to their height I believe.
saneindian Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Cometh the hour, cometh the Hero Lord Agarkar. What a time to hit your 1st FC 100 in so many seasons!
The Dark Horse Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Cometh the hour' date=' cometh the Hero Lord Agarkar. What a time to hit your 1st FC 100 in so many seasons![/quote'] Wow:hatsoff:

What a time to hit your 1st FC 100 in so many seasons![/quote'] can't beleive that Mumbai did not lose a single wkt today.. they have emulated RD /VVS Agarkar has 3 FC 100's before this...He was an allrounder in the U-19 worldcup & then the ducks in Aus before the Olympics changed everything
saneindian Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Yep I do remember him scoring a 100 and taking 5 wickets vs Pak u-19 back in the late 90s after which he was picked for the Senior Indian side. Was said to be a very good batsman those days, couldn't quite fulfill his potential with the bat in int'l cricket.
diga Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Sir Aggy :hysterical: Sir Aggy also holds the record for fastest 50 by an Indian in ODI's... he can still play Champions trophy :--D

He spoke highly of Sir Aggy. I had lot of hopes from him.

The similarity is also enhanced due to their height I believe. Was thinking the same. The thing that worried me about him was that when he was defending, his bat face was opening too much instead of staying straight. Like this against quality bowlers who can get more bounce and movement he will struggle. Too early to tell though, as we only saw a small glimpse and need to see his shot range tomorrow.
Cevno Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Quite a few pacere running in faster, putting in more effort and hitting the deck harder ; even some who previously put in less effort like Dhawal, Pankaj, Unadkat. I wonder whether there are some specific instruction from the selectord or the board ? If yes then well done. Pankaj always hit the deck and has gotten quicker now. Unadkat and Dhawal weren't traditional swing bowlers too.
MCcricket Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 It is beyond my understanding why a bowler who is the best in India , I mean India including Indian team is not even in Ateam, shame on the selectors who are letting their petty issues block the selections of Pankaj Singh
express bowling Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Pankaj always hit the deck and has gotten quicker now. Unadkat and Dhawal weren't traditional swing bowlers too. All these pacers are putting in more effort at every stage of the bowling process than they did previously and the off the deck effect is also better than before.
