Texan Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Based on his performances, he deserved to be in the team to England instead of Binny, but he doesn't have a Godfather in the BCCI unlike Binny.
Cricket_Hacker Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 if binny is bad doesn't mean Rishi should get a go . "seam bowling all-rounders" shoudn't be played just for the sake of it
jf1gp_1 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 130kmh. F off Stay in ranji thank you very much. if he can bat like jaddu then why not as a 3rd or 4th seamer ?
cricketfan28 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 rishi dhawan is not impressive .., looks like another bangar as someone said
tweaker Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Has performed well in the A tour, certainly deserve a chance over Binny

"seam bowling all-rounders" shoudn't be played just for the sake of it If they wanted a seam bowling all-rounder, then Dhawan was a better choice purely based on his performances. If they didn't feel anybody was good enough, then neither of them should have been picked.

kubrickian Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Deserves a shot in the ODI side as the World Cup is in Australia where spinners won't get a lot of help. Going with 2 spinners won't be a good move in Aus/NZ as we found out in NZ ODI series. I think Bhuvi can be our seamer all rounder as he can be a useful lower order batsman and go with 3 other specialist seamers and one of Ashwin or Jaddu. Rishi can be backup if one of our seamers is not doing well and he can add runs down the order.

Anyway Binny would be in squad after his 6-4.Hope Dhawan is picked up too as a backup.

So, he might be a better or at least equally good as a batsman. I'm pretty sure his bowling is much better.

Having seen Rishi's batting in IPL,He seems a limited batsman who can hang around and support main batsmen, like Bhuvi
tweaker Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Rishi Dhawan has taken 10 wickets & scored more than 100 runs in Vijay Hazare trophy, then also he is ignored in favour of Binny & Vinay Kumar
