If Viv is really interested in being a coach ,his main priority should be to focus on helping WI regain their lost glory...Then he can think about India. Must be tough for him to see how WI have become a shell of their former self.

Why would I be joking about one of the greatest players of all time as our coach? that is something we should be anxious to make happen not laughing at! Agree he is a very strong and outspoken character but there are huge differences with Chappell, first Viv is a much better leader than Chappell, 2nd Viv understands the Indian culture far better than Chappel ever did or ever will, the fact of the matter is that Viv has brought a life onto this earth that is now an Indian citizen, that is a bond that so strong and deep, which means his passion to lead our team forward and to understand our culture cannot be questioned.

I am for a West Indian as the head coach as well .... Ideally, someone who was a part of the 70s-80s team .... The goal is to give that free-flowing West Indies type of flair to Indian cricket To assist the head coach, have one or two people who can do comprehensive analysis to help develop a game plan. The game plan should ideally be for each game depending up on the venues and also for each player including how to bowl at him, along with strategies that help to counter bowling from the opposition Another option is to have someone like Mark Taylor, who was one of the best captains I have seen, come in as the head coach. Warne has experience of Indian cricket too by virtue of his association with IPL so he can be another contender. It is worth spending money on such guys
