The question is - Do we have faith in our batsmen against the Aussie bowling on a last day wicket? The other approach would be to bat for 2 days and bat Australia out of the game & ask them to bat out Day 5. Anyways, ATM we shouldn't be thinking about it as we still need to dismiss 3 Aussie batsmen and more importantly match their score (at least).

Why should India be stupid enough to declare on the same score as ussies when India will get the worst of conditions in the 4th innings? Why shouldn't India pile on as many runs in the 1st innings and try to bat just once? I am sorry but declaring on the same score as Aussies given that we are 2-0 up makes no sense whatsoever.

You seem to suggest Option B but that would mean Aussies playing for survival as they can't win the game. I said Option A to dangle the carrot to the Aussies and make them play in our hands. I don't think they can play aggressive against our spinners (and Dhoni's spread fields) in a Test match to set up India a sporting target.

In Option A, the opposition team is also playing for a win and hence you have more chances. In Option B, the opposition is only playing for a draw. The reason I prefer option A is that I have more faith in the Australian batsmen trying to play aggressively and getting out to leave us for a paltry total. I understand where you come from but I would like to take the gamble. :--D

Mentioned in the match thread as well. He's got a very simple and uncomplicated technique from the little I've seen so far. Also good use of feet against the spinners...resembles Clarke at times.

What should India do to win the test? IMO we need to add 400 more runs @ 4 runs per over and play 100 overs tomorrow. If there two play the first out the first 10 overs then I think its time to send Dhoni at 3 to press for the advantage. That will give us a lead of 275. Give yourself 100 odd overs to bowl Australia out. Its an outside chance but IMO India should go for it. There was turn for Smith and Lyon. Who knows maybe the Aussies might collapse after the pitch has been worn out by their pacers. Footmarks are starting to emerge. We have IMO 200-225 overs to press for the win.

should play some aggressive cricket from both ends and match their score and declare it in first session itself(possible with 30+ overs and 10 wks in hand) then try and get their 10 wks ASAP. we may get only around 40 overs to chase around 300 if we can put ourselves in a better situation its better then go for it in the final innings

If we are to win this, it has to be by an innings. Dhawan and Vijay should attack right from the start, like they did today. We have Kohli and Dhoni coming in, who can score at 6 RPO easily. It is going to be really difficult, but we can get a lead of around 200 and then bowl them out. But this is going to take some bowling.
