rkt.india Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Even as Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar reminded his Indian fans what they have been missing out on since he announced his retirement from One Day International (ODI), his son Arjun looks all set to make a splash in the cricket world. Twelve-year-old Arjun Tendulkar was on Thursday selected in the Mumbai Under-14 team for the West Zone League that would be held in Ahmedabad. The junior Tendulkar was earlier named in the 32-member list of probable players after he scored over 250 runs in five matches in Mumbai's last inter-school tournament. Arjun had turned out for Khar centre in the competition. Arjun has already had a taste of nets with the Indian team. So not only does he have the best batsman in the world giving him tips, but he has also had some of the best coaches in the business watching him keenly. However, comparing Arjun to his father would be taking it a little too far and unfair. For, Sachin at this time was already hitting hundreds in just about every match he played and also had over 600-run partnership in Harris Shield. Clarke Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Another Gandhi like dynasty in cricket will start with Tendulkar's occupying the no.4 slot You'd think Rohan & Aravind would have played 50 tests & 250 ODIs by now.
EnterTheVoid Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 God help Indian cricket if his son also plans on "enjoying" cricket.
Pakistan Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 You'd think Rohan & Aravind would have played 50 tests & 250 ODIs by now. Rohan is son of Sunni. Whose son is Aravind?

Lord Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 He already has the physique to fit into team India. :giggle:
Texy Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 I don't think any selector would risk his job by not selecting him......but I hope he deserves/merits his place in the squad.
Serani Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Watch out for Shivnarine Chanderpauls son, scoring big runs in Guyana, soon we will have Father and son playing first class cricket together if he makes the FC team this season, some seriously slow scoring rates will follow.
Cevno Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Sachin to not retire till his Son makes it to the Indian team.
Number Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Reputation based selection just like his father currently.
