Lol shewag does have a good defence .His front foot defence is quite good bat close to pad .You make it seem like shewag is some tailender. The guy has opened against some great bowlers and been quite good.I think u did not watch his debut innings in sa in middle order.Just check cricinfo.
once again sehwag not shewag

I don't remember much either because the thrashings we have received in Australia and England have made me forget all the good that they did. :(( The strokeplays that Sehwag was playing in that first session, weren't very inspiring either.
stroke plays?he got out 3rd ball for zero:cantstop:

Damn you are right. He left the first two balls but the next over he tried to upper cut and Steyn set him up beautifully. Forgot all about it :((

Folks' date=' let's accept that Sehwag is finished, and look to develop Rahane or Mukund or any other opener from the domestic circuit.[/quote'] lol why accept when he isnt?

his defense is ok he doesn ot covers the ball or move feat out side line of of stump or leaves enough balls ...these all things are part of defence! and defense against short ball ..kp or prior can dig in if they want sehwag cant thats my point
Can't believe you are comparing Prior with Sehwag, LOL! Sehwag is in a different league as a batsman from Prior. Whatever Prior can do, Sehwag can do better. It's as simple as that.

How does it matter.
when did i say prior is better..i just said he is better suited for lower middle order and can play sensible innings if required and can dig in..sehwag has never sjown this trait and its very important u cant always counter attack even kp does not ..at opening u can play agressive all the time.. so i thiink sehwag is better suited there india ball gets slower and even reverseswings so its kind of har der in middle order compared to opener whereif u survive 5 overs u get to bat in best conditions

Opening is the most difficult place to attack good bowlers.Thats why shewag is rated os highly. But with age cathcing up its better he faces the old ball .

it is away from home but in india its easier to open dont generalize things opening is harder in aus, england and south africa but not in india hard ball without much movement is easy to hit in india when ball gets old scoring quickly is much much harder 8 times out of 10 ball does not swings much just new ball swings for 4-5 overs thats it it reverses later on.. yeah he can play spin well but lately he has been out slogging too many times .. im sure u know this too.. and sehwag at top makes sense too as he can build pressure by scoring quickly in middle order many times he wont get chance to score quickly as ur not always in position to attack .. maybe sehwag 2 years ago would have been succesful but not this fat guy who slogs against spinners and throws his wicket away earlier own if he got start he used to convert it into big big hundred now if he gets lucky and gets set he throws it away by slogging or getting out to full tosses

You are talking about an innings played 12-13 years back. Sehwag then and now has whole lot of difference in their batting style.

Sehwag fans better realize that it has been a long time since he played wonderful knocks under difficult conditions.

I Know but with out giving him chance in middle order whihc suits his style more we will never know.

FXKlutggdw0 Where is this Sehwag gone, I dont think I have ever seen a more destructive innings against a top class bowling attack. If not for Sachin reigning him that day he would have score much more. All this guy needs is pat on back and given some morale boosting, this guy is not done.
