Yea right and I'm the king of Siam! It is now know beyond doubt who is the best wicketkeeper batsman in world. The best in Tests, the best in ODI and certainly the best T20. Remember Sangakarra doesn't keep in Test and his record in ODIs and T20 is not comparable to MSD. And Matty Pryor is ok but he could never play the inning MSD did today - on whatever pitch, no longer is thought good enough in ODI cricket and is ineffective at T20

Dhoni is one of the best ODI players and finishers ever. So he is certainly the best now. Did ABDV ever play an innings like the one Dhoni played in World Cup final ? South Africa never won a knock out game in World Cup. What did ABDV do in those games ? In tests, Dhoni struggles a bit in overseas conditions. So ABDV is probably better.

In Tests the best wk-batsman is Prior. I don't consider ABDV a wk-batsman as he's a stop-gap and won't be keeping for long. However in odis, or if you want just one wk across all formats, Dhoni's the man.

Dhoni is a long way ahead in ODIs.... but in tests ABDV is a better option because he can play as a pure batsman in any test team and is a good enough keeper..

When it comes to ODIs and T20s, give me MS Dhoni. Test matches however are a different story. AB De Villiers is one of the classiest batsmen in the world. I even had the luxury of meeting him on my visit to Australia in 2008. He is a very carefree person :)

Boss, in tests, it's Prior. He has played many an innings like what Dhoni has played today. May not be a 200, but he has saved the Poms' arses on numerous occasions. Something, which Dhoni has not been able to do regularly in tests. ODI's, Dhoni is the best batsman, leave out WK-batsman.

AB averages 60 as a keeper in test, there is no comparison as a batsman between AB and Prior AB is still young, I see him being a ATG alone as a batsman, he averages 60+ in last five years, if he continue this trend then he will go long way. He can even challenge Gilly at the end of his career, if he continues as a keeper

I seriously cannot fathom a comparison between Prior and AB. Ab has played a lot of monstrous knocks which have won test matches for SA. He can make scores like 250 plus and puts a heavy price on his wicket. Prior is a good batsman, but he cannot be considered as a great one. He is a poor man's Ab De Villers based on his batting. His wicketkeeping is great though. I can see that AB is making good strides on his keeping and will possibly retain the role.

AB is a freaking good keeper, I hardly see him doing anything wrong and took some extraordinary takes against Pakistan. His agility is quite amazing. It always helps, when you are as good as fielder as AB de Villiers

How long has AB been keeping though ? When Kallis retires, he will be expected to continue keeping for the side's balance. Can't see him don the gloves for a long time, hopefully SA can find another keeper who can bat and AB can continue with the sledgehammer in hand.

Dhoni great in ODIs but not in T20s. Doesn't have single 50 in international t20s. ABDV classic batsman.

11 matches and has an average of 60.46, so I don't think it is effecting his batting at all. Gary Kirsten himself mentioned that 7 batsmen give them the X factor
