The problem with Ishant or any other Indian seamers face when they play abroad is lack of experience of running thru sides. All their lives they bowl on unhelpful tracks and rarely run thru sides.They rarely have any experience of bowling a side out twice in a match.If they take wickets in first innings which is quite rare getting thru second innings is monumental task for them. Our batsmen on other hand have played all thru their lives on making big scores on flat wickets when they play abroad and find surface to their liking they can score runs because they have done it in past and know how to build and pace an innings. Guys like Ishant I feel think if they get a wicket or two they have done their job even if they play on helpful wickets.If they don't any wickets also it is quite normal experience for them. Guy like Zak even when he was good rarely ran thru any side.Taking bucket load of wickets in a series was never his strength.They are so accustomed to being second class citizens in bowling department.

P Kumar did better than him in England because he bowled better. I am not here to rationalize his failures but blank statements like you make are disingenuous. RP bowled against an England side that simply doesn't compare to England 2011. Ishant should have bowled better but your comparisons with others is an opportunistic exercise in point scoring. There are things that Ishant has done better, like keep in shape and stay focussed, unlike Sree and RP, even though results haven't followed. In this series, although Kumar has two wickets more than him, I do not think he's been outbowled by any quick other than Pattinson. He's been effective.

the real question i have for you is this, do you want him in the indian side or not. We can analyse and say that this factor cannot be compared as it was the same etc etc. But the bottom line remains that Ishant just does not have the numbers home or away to back up being selected. and this is a forum to be honest, blank statements especially looking at ishant's stats are apt. Away from home ishant averages more than 40 with the ball against everybody barring WI and BD. Being fit is the only thing ishant has done. India do have options. Its not as if Ishant is the only one in the country. Even if zaheer and umesh are injured, we do have dinda in the side who should come in.

No. India wining both Tests has automatically granted them an extension. Now they can play at least 2 more matches and do nothing.

Since the 2nd innings of the 1st test, Harbhajan has bowled better than i remember for some time. I still think Ojha should be in the team ahead of him but Harbhajan's place looks safe for now.
